Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

      DAY 1 -TUESDAY, JULY 10

The ride, all set to take off!!
I was zipping through all the trucks during the lazy hours of the morning and i was effortlessly cruising at 110-120kmph. My destination for the day was GOA. My previous best was 390kms in a day. But this was a real challenge to me, 680kms in wet conditions.

Just stopped to check if everything behind was fine!!

      En route hubli

      The super boring straight highways

Some random bridge i stopped by..
      Breakfast at Kamat..
So, after a nice breakfast and a cup of coffee & a little bit of stretching am back to the saddle chasing the last 120kms of boring starights.

      Nearing up hubli..

      En route Ankola

      Beautiful weather to ride
So after i had my share of showers the sun started showing up. Everything around me was just fresh & bright green, a treat to the eyes i say. On the way towards Ankola i rode passed a huge plantation field. I thought why not get in there & get a few colourful clicks.

      Lush green fields enroute Ankola..

      Lush green fields enroute Ankola..
The last 80 odd kms was pretty slow due to the traffic heading towards goa. The minute i spotted a beach on my left i was so relieved. oohhh!!! yes i made it. But wait after asking the locals about the adress were my room was located they said another 50kms to go. Damnnn!! I had to hurry since it was getting dark.

                DAY 2- WEDNESDAY, JULY 11

I could hear some nice slow music, as my eyes slowly opened up the sound became louder. Yes that was my alarm for 8am. I had the entire day to spend in Goa. So what was in the list?? The best beaches, some good food & some slight drizzles all day long. All geared up, i headed towards Colva beach. Again rain rain every were.

The scenic route towards Colva beach..

The roads were slushy, slippery. After about 2omins offroading the beach was visible. It was a beautiful sight to watch as i kept riding towards it. Slowly got the bike inside and enjoyed the sound of the waves and the cool breeze just stroking my face.

Peace & calmness at a different level..
                Rajbag Beach..
So finally, i decided to call it a day. Since i had a long ride to chikmaglur the next day i had to get some good sleep.

                      DAY 3- THURSDAY, JULY12

After a peaceful sleep, it was time for me to head towards chikmaglur. Had a quick shower, packed my stuff & gently rolled the throttle & made my way out as i didnt want to disturb the residents staying close by. Checked the fuel guage, i had enough fuel for about 150+kms. Had some good cornering for breakfast until i hit the SH.

The tarmac was butter smooth as i kept zipping through the random villages that passed by. At a particular point i spotted a board
that read Gokarna 15kms. But then that was on the other side. I had to take a detour as my destination was straight. So i just stood in front of the board looked at my watch, looked around, right indicator blinks & i head to Gokarna to have a glimpse of the Om beach. After about 45mins i reach a spot were i was able to view the Om beach. Yes, thats right 45mins. The roads were in a bad shape and lot of traffic.

The not so clean Om beach..

Water water water rain rain rain!!!
After some clicking & posing i head towards Udupi. It was the SH all the way & i was accompanied by the heavy rains all the way till Udupi were i had stopped over for lunch. I then decided to call it a day at Udupi beacuse of the heavy down pour which made it impossible to ride. But something struck my mind saying that i am going off the plan which was all written down in a diary which i maintained for the entire ride. I just head to the nearest fueling station, tanked up & called one of my friend (nishanth) who had done chikmaglur some couple of weeks before. I just spoke to him asking about the roads to chikmaglur & how long it would take. All set & done i choose the hard way of riding in the rains to chikmaglur. As i reached Karkala the rains stopped & the sun came out of no were.

                      Roads leading to Karkala
Just when my gear was almost dry due to the sun it started to pour again. Once i entered the ghats towards chikmaglur the visibilty was really really bad. I just pulled over for sometime waiting to see if the fog would clear. Yes!!! after waiting for about 20mins everything had cleared out but it was still raining. Due to this there was no point in me stopping for pictures. So after battling it out with the rains and the pot holes filled road i reached a small town. I thought phheewwwwww!! finally chikmaglur. And i was wrong again this time. I had another 80 odd kms to cover.

                            DAY 4- FRIDAY, JULY 13

A cold morning,a nice blanket.. Hmmmmmmm!!! snoozed the alarm for another hour. It was 9 by the time i left for mullyanagiri(the highest peak in karnataka). As usual it was raining, got used it though!! Started towards mullyanagiri. I was expecting to capture a few jaw dropping pictures but the weather played spoilt sport. Rain, fog all that i could see everywere. Most of the pictures clicked had a similar background( the white fog).

                            \m/

So after some clicking and posing i reached mullyanagiri. The view was just breathtaking. Only if i had come in the summers instead of monsoons i would have camped there for one night. But in monsoons camping there was out of the question.

                            O

After thrashing the bike in the rains for last few days it badly needed a wash. The brakes were sweaking, i could feel the heat of the engine as there was lot of slush accumulation. I head to the nearest BAJAJ service center for a wash and a small check up.

It took me about 45mins to reach atthingudi. When i was on top of the hill i could spot the part of the town which had sunlight. It was such a beautiful sight. On my way back back i spotted some small waterfall. It looked kind of funny, wierd.

                            Green green green!!!!

                            Waterfalls???
Neer dosa & mutton curry. Awesomeness \m/
