I loved the photo in which the straight road goes between trees.

Damn this Diwali I took my car instead of my bike. SO all my plan to take the bike to a hill station was crushed. Im envying you bro!

So, you didn't execute your diwali plans.??
Sad for you, bro. BTW, I rode out for two more days, after diwali. 'll post them soon.

Added a video from the view tower at Sirumalai.

You could have ended the video zooming on your bike

Had to take a lot of luggage and goods to native. So mom told to take the car. So I couldn`t take the bike. Some day we should travel together. I love hills a lot!

          4. Meghamalai

          Logged on November 16, 2012.

Meghamalai is a famous destination amongst the southern Xbhp-ians. There are a lotta documentation and photos to it in various threads.
Me and my friend had a day at our hand and lots and lots to talk about as we are meeting after 6 months since our college ended. We felt like it would be nice to ride and share stories.

So, we rode out to Meghamalai. The wheather was sunny and everywhere there seems to exist a layer of fog in air. Guess the best season is in Aug-Oct.
          Anyways, pictures to follow.

My Babyblade reached her 5k mark on that day.

Our first stop for the day, somewhere after Theni

          Roads at the foothill

          Really bad roads.

          Meghamalai Murugan temple

Looks like a bird, ain't it?

It was interesting to know that each Hair pin bend in the route is named after a flower. During return, stopped at every turn and clicked the name of the board.
Was unable to find any board for some.
          Here's a collage of them.

            Kalakkad Mundanthurai Tiger Reserve

            Date: 26, Jan 2013
Route Map : Sivakasi - Courtallam - Karaiyaar Dam - Tirunelveli - Sivakasi

            Its Republic day.
Went on a small ride into the town. Came across a school where a meeting was going on. Luckily my friends were there and we went in, payed our respects to the nation.
And after my friends left, I was left over with a complete day and no agenda. So, headed out. Was thinking of a destination while being on the saddle. I was a there a couple of months back, and though the Supreme court has released orders to open up, as they were yet to get the papers they didn't let me in. Lets go and check out, if they had opened up yet.

            Kalakadu Tiger Reserve it is.

            Complete log in pictures.

            En route :

            On the way NH 744

Almost dried up Main Falls @ Courtallam

            Old Courtallam Falls

            Papanasam Temple @noon

Welcome Board @ Kalakkad Reserve Checkpost

            Papanasam Lower Hydroelectric project

These tubes run right from the Upper dam which is my final destination through the mountains for 15kms. The tubes are a good 6-8ft wide.

            River Crossing en route

            An Iron platform bridge

            My love <3

The Karaiyar Dam built across the first and seventh of a group of hills.

            Silence at its best!!!

The whole area is under control of TN Electricity Board

            A Board at the dam!

The Famous spot on NH-7 on my way back

A Pano of the complete dam.
My cam doesn't have a pano mode, so shot the photos and merged them myself.
Though, the exposures doesn't seem to match.
The water is at its lowest and you can very well see the normal water level mark in the surrounding hills.

The reservoir still extends to a good 2 kms more through the pass between the hills straight opposite. That's where you'll be taken through boating and then a 15 mins trek
'll get you to an awesome falls, 'Panatheertham Falls'. As the water level was low, there was a danger of Crocs, and so the service had been suspended.
Also, there is another one dam, from a diversion en route here. From there an adventure trail leads to Idukki in Kerala across the Western ghats.
"ll for sure take up with that route some day.
            Ride safe. Cheers

Wow...nice to see this, thanks for posting. In Yelagiri also they have named every bend in this manner I think.

                Am glad you liked it!!
The naming system is the first one I've ever seen.
It was interesting at the same time, sad to notice the maintenance part of it.
6 corners were missing the boards.

                  Re: My 1-day rides

                  @neevarp16....
Just wanted to clear some questions about the Cbr..
There has been so much criticism about the low end tourque.. but you seem to travel in hilly areas.. Have you faced any low end performance issues..alone or with a pillion?? Or it is just overhyped.??
Does the new cbr have a pass light ??
Is the spare parts costly or difficult to find??

RIDE it To FEEL it !!!

                    Re: My 1-day rides

I had to get a new bike around 3 months back. I had this bike in my mind. Kind of a big crush for its design. But due to various other reasons I bought a 17hp RTR. Since the time I joined this forum, I have paid visits to this thread to just look at the bike. Also to the CBR 150R thread where I can see more 150Rs. This bike is so gorgeous Always makes me want to ride/ own one. And the pictures of your green one are so seductive
