Bidar: A land of Fort,Mosques, Tombs, Temple and Gurudwara.....
The next destination was Gurdwara Nanak Jhira Sahib. This Gurudwara is pretty famous destination for Sikh pilgrims and as much as 30000 pilgrims a day, come on important days. On the way we detoured to some mosque and picturesque Sunflower fields...
A rare sight. People of other religion paying homage at Gurudwara. Respect.
Us
Than we moved to Bahamani Tombs. And believe me the tombs were nothing less than a jackpot for the day.
We never expected such magnificent architecture in outskirts of Bidar. As per Hindu's news article there are as many
as 30 tombs in Bidar. Most of these Tombs are of Sultans and Begums of Bahamani Dynasty. The Persian architecture
eludes awesomeness.
Re: Bidar: A land of Fort,Mosques, Tombs, Temple and Gurudwara.....
Last Friday-during diwali my wife and me traveled Bidar after reading the post from juris . Yes Indeed It is nice. As of today the road condition is not good for NH9. It is only ok. Lot of potholes 10 inches to knee deep. Drive carefully. Also if you start early then you may avoid lot of traffic. Once you reach zaheerabad then take right. The road is real good. You will enjoy the ride.
Many travelers want this trip to be one day trip but I would suggest to stay back in Bidar for a night. As Juris has already covered most of the fort's picture I am not going to enter the same. I am trying to post something new..may be unseen by most of us.
ASI has imposed a rule that we must need approval from authority to get enter into the fort's main building. There is an office beside museum. Pls ask the officer for permission. He will arrange the guide.I have heard that they are going to put ticketing system soon.
Once you get the approval please proceed to the Mosq. It is worth watching. A clean ..white 72 pillars big Mosq.
