They were threatened more than confused..Originally posted by satyenpoojary View Postwoah! damn neat Akhil.... looks like you guys had fun....
I can only imagine the cops getting confused looking at two similarly styled bikes which are 'unseen' in those parts of the world!
Status was very much real. Kept speeding at a minimum because I wanted to ride with Mithun as much as possible.Originally posted by hitanshu View PostAwesome. potas beku!
So that status was for real - as if burning intercontinental ATF wasnt enough
some of those pics make me so wistful. btw 116ks is the max touched on the One? Woah!
Docked us, as in he just caught us, lectured me and let us off.Originally posted by ken cool View PostUp, about and flying...
You got me salivating on your scavenging at the Mylari restaurateur. Nothing to complete a nice ride like good food.
Wow! Nice leathers, Alpinestars and all. If terrorists came in Alpinestar leathers and on the R-1, I would not mind inviting that terrorist to lunch.
Docked for overspeeding? On what speed guns and cameras? Did you see the record yourself? Coz, here in N'India, currently there are NO cameras that can record Bike speeds. And you have the right to ask for the imaged records!
Your estates are vast and huge... (aside: when and which will be your next Sbk?)
And yes the estates are massive, but not massive enough for another SBK as yet
YupOriginally posted by Sunny View PostBeautiful Stuff! So this is where you were going when you announced on FB
Sorry I didn't reply there.. had already left by then.
Thanks KiranOriginally posted by kirosh_03 View PostAkhil and Mithun: A wonderful tour indeed! Nice to see the ONE touring again.
Looking forward for the rest of the log and pics.
[OT] That A* suit on Akhil looks damn good.
I was really quite comfortable in leathers Ken. I myself don't fully know how!
I've left the fans running all the time, and it had never happened. I read somewhere that the heat also reduces battery efficiency, but it doesn't make too much sense in my case.Originally posted by Technocrat View PostWow Great log & lovely Pics Akhil
I wonder why you did that, if you were anyways planning to halt for more than 30 mins you didntt need to keep the Fans running.
People were scared to interact.. they'd just stop, stare, talk amongst themselves and push off. Except for a few stops, this was the case everywhere.Originally posted by bobbykick View PostWow !! Akhil Bhai you have refreshed my memories of adirapalli waterfalls !! that i hade visited as a kid !! lovely place amazing viewpoints !! and the yamaha brothers had a lot of fun i see !!??
one question !! how did the ppl there react to the full alpinestar suit !???

Le nafeesa, too much scope eh?Originally posted by nfsnfs View Postassam trip , grrr . Rossi ,one piece suite show off , he he

You're not really that old are you Ken?Originally posted by ken cool View PostDespite the clutch problems of the RD, the traffic, you still managed to see the Kovalam Sunset. I have seen Kovalam way before most of you guys were even born!!
And I remember there were ONLY foreigners then.
Good to see the camaraderie amongst guys in the South who would make an effort to meet other riders coming from hundreds of kilometres away. I salute your spirit.
And yes, the Trivandrum guys were fantastic. Very friendly and fun chaps
I've no idea!Originally posted by navnish View Postakhil you can make a movie man.. nice logs...
BTW how come the R1 is so dirty and the R15 is so clean
Am still cleaning itOriginally posted by Aparajith View PostGood trip there guys and awesome narration by Rossiter!!!
@Rossiter: How long did it take for u to clean the A* suit and the R1?

It also proves that an R15 can tow an R1Originally posted by MavericK46 View PostYikes..!!
Not a exactly an encouraging statement there man
I reiterate. Amazing trip guys. The pics, trip logs were excellent.
@mithun : Santa and you have proved that the R15 can tour without any sorta difficulty

Absolutely worth it man.. thanks AryanOriginally posted by Aryan View Post@rossi & mithun: What an awesome trip you two had! And an really apt title for such a wonderful ride - "The Spirit Of Brotherhood"..Kudos to both of you, for braving such bad patch of roads, riding for such long distances tired and worn out, and thanks for sharing those lovely pictures and the wonderful text!
At the end it was all worth it, ain't it? Lovely!

Hey thanks Kedar! Like I said earlier, I'm not too big on going fast when I'm with company. If I was alone, I'd have been cruising around the 120s mark, with top speeds much higher.Originally posted by Technocrat View PostBrilliant log & a great trip Akhil & Mithun
Akhil man it must have been really tough to keep up or in this case keep down with withe R15
How did you control the urge man

Actually, people told us the distance from Madurai to Salem was 500 kms.Originally posted by mithun.08 View Post

Doing a good trip is one thing and presenting it in such a wonderful write-up is another ! as always, Akhil Bhai, you are brilliant.
The diversions on the GQ reminds me of the Bang - Hyd road. Its similar, but the diversions is from one side of the road to another .. i use it as a make shift S - bend curve
I don't have to get my grey cells working if i am going to an unknown city, anymore - just get one of the xBhpian's number and you wil have a good humble guide for your company
Thats what i have experienced, be it in Bangalore OR Chennai OR Delhi OR Pune - xBhp is a big proud family.Last edited by caravikiran; 12-25-2008, 05:38 PM.

Akhil: surprising mileage there.....neither of us (sunny and I) could get beyond 18 kmpl. What were the speeds like in these sections? And the traffic/road condition?? Or was it 'honest' fuel bunks??? great trip there and better was the 'aankhon dekha haal' trip log. Thanks OF.. the road was quite patchy at best.. so was maintaining 65ish for the entire stretch. Traffic was minimal in most parts. And could be honest fuel as well.
2nd stretch: (Namakkal): That was the GQ construction road as well.. and that figure surprised me as well.
I got 20ish in my previous ride to Kudremukh.. But 21 is an all time high

My tentative conclusion: low speeds + high gear + low rider weight + honest fuel + absent cat con = amazing mileage on the 1. Say what??Originally posted by rossiter View PostThanks OF.. the road was quite patchy at best.. so was maintaining 65ish for the entire stretch. Traffic was minimal in most parts. Low rider weight? HardlyOriginally posted by Old Fox View PostMy tentative conclusion: low speeds + high gear + low rider weight + honest fuel + absent cat con = amazing mileage on the 1. Say what??
That Astars suit was struggling to keep my belly in
But seriously, impressive mileage alright.. But I'm told the Blade is better on economy.
EDIT: I forgot add that I never shifted above 6000 RPM.. my shifts were always within that RPM.Last edited by rossiter; 12-27-2008, 02:16 PM."Tough times never last, but tough people do." - Robert Schuller
