Yes.. Absolutely true.. i also felt the same on my solo ride..
moreover, when we are not interested to take clicks we need not to wait for others, just go ahead with hardcore riding..

Don't worry man. We will ride soon one day. I'm thinking Daman?

Brilliant write up and the pictures are proof as to what an amazing ride what it would have been. Although, isn't safety an issue in such solo rides? I mean, what if you have a flat tire or you crash into a wild animal into the forest which, from the looks of it, seems pretty much deserted?

            Thank you!

Agreed there are some safety issues with solo rides. Earlier I had a thunderbird, and I din't have the confidence for solo trip 'cos of reasons like flat tyre and other mechanical issues.
With the tubeless i don't have to worry much about flat tyre. I always carry a puncture repair kit with me on these trips. You have to be extra carefull and practice safe riding in solo trips. Know your limits while cornering, don't do speed tests/racing , use protective gears, plan evrything well in advance...etc are some things that you can do from your side. Rest is fate!

Glad to know that my trip inspired you. Ooty is an easy destination from Bangalore. Excellent roads throughout and scenic too.

Re: Bumble bee flyes to Ooty

Great trip and even better pics, I daresay. I bought my Bumble bee last week and can't wait to go on a (shorter) ride like this. Can you elaborate a bit more on the bag? The Optimus S sounds like a great option for our NS, but do its suction cups play spoilsport in anyway by scratching the tank's surface or something like that? Also, due to the NS's large tank (outer shell) and the bag's height, is visibility ever a problem? Finally, how good is it as a saddlebag? Sorry if these questions are OT, I just need to know more about this bag that I'm looking forward to buying, especially after reading this thread.

Sorry for the late reply! The Optimus S is 'the only' option available for fiber tanks like NS's. The issue I faces was with the suction cups, they don't stay put for long time. It gives away on bad roads and after 2-3 big humps. If fully loaded, the bag tends to lean to one side because of the height. No problems with visibility.
As a tail bag, it actually stays intact, but the height makes it difficult to get on and off the bike.

No problem, mate. Thanks a ton for this info. The suction cup issue is interesting. Is it serious enough that you'd advise me not to go for it or is it something that we can easily live with? What if the back is secured with extra bungee cords? Will that help in providing extra stability as I've seen some pictures of folks doing it for their other bags such as the Viaterra Claw. The height thing also makes sense and I never thought about it earlier. All said and done. I guess I will go for it in the end.

Once again, thanks a lot. You have been very helpful Have you gone on any rides recently?

It's not a very serious issue as you have the straps which can be fastened on the crash guard. If used as tail bag, you don't need bungee cords even, the straps are enuf. It will not move an inch. But as I said earlier, the height is an issue especially if u are wearing knee guards.

My last Kodai trip in March was so exhausting, that I decided not to ride in this summer heat. Some monsoon ride are planned

The fact is... I visited only those places which were not crowded. Kodanad view point is usually crowded, but I reached there round 7:30am and I was the only person there
