Trekking is supposedly banned from surrounding areas after few people were attacked by elephants, not fatal though from last year if I am not wrong .that is when they came up with the 2 hour time frame to visit HGB.

No treks allowed now.
And moreover, I was getting restricted access on my phone. No calls possible. Few sms-es failed and few went through!

Regarding off-road, that's just after this stretch. There was no place where I could park my bike and take pics. BTW, this road wasn't any good either.

Very true about the Dazzler!!

Well actually I have already packed the area around tool-kit with crumpled up news paper. In my bike the helmet holder swing is loose so that rattles in the rear. And in the front my console rattles since it is loose on one side. I haven't bothered to correct that only because it rattles only on really bad roads and not on normal roads on which I ride generally.

Along with the 1.5 hour time limit, they now open the gates at 8.30 in the morning, so no chance of catching the sunrise...

Also the temple boundary now has a rope all around it, crossing that is prohibited, we saw the path that went from behind the temple, would have been awesome to go there!!

I had been there about 10 days back. It's an awesome place. It wasn't half as awesome as it was during my previous trip though. If you plan to go there again, you should go during rains.
You are right about the road. It's the biggest pain. The steep inclines combined with the awful roads made my RTR160 struggle at some points to pull even with full throttle on 3rd cog (75+65 kg payload). Had to stick to the 2nd

Which lake bro? Actually there are 2-3 in the T-log. If you're talking about the one with birds in it, then that was near Mysore on our way back.

Yes, but monsoon is far away as of now. Will do it again once in between.

Sorry to hijack your thread Divya but i wanted to post some photos from my side too so that more and more people come to know about the beauty of this wonderful place.

We had gone their at the month of September last year while coming from Bandipur just after the monsoons. The climate was awesome then. Now let the pictures do the talking.

Yes bro i bought the classic 500 recently. Its around a month old nw, but is a used one though.
