  • [Photo Feature]: Vellore to Valparai, Learners ride...

Just after getting my bike in my hand in vellore always tried to make an western ghat ride ..
As I ride small 125cc platina , always pushed her to her limit and surely she didn't complain at all ...

My 1st western ghat ride was to trivandum
    attending-conference-trivandum-bikers-style-my-longest-platina-ride

    Then I rode to Mangalore
    eastern-ghat-western-ghat-coast-1800kms

Now we could manage a 4days for holidays .
    we???

    Siddharta aka Sid
Who has a quite nice experience of riding , me sid have done some trips on my bike before..

Saket , who is purely newbee in Biking , actually this trip was because of him only , to teach him ..

Sujoy, quite nice pilion rider and photographer and nevigater

atlast Its meee, shubham bairy aka longtourer ..

But where are the rides ???

    My trustworthy Platina 125
& new Hero Passion xpro (110) which had just completed run-in ..

    A story of 4 friends, 4days , 2 bikes , 2 places , 1500 + kms (kms is not much) ..

Vellore to valparai via Kolli hills ..

Just a glimps of our photo log

Enjoy the teaser.. Will come back with full log

Very nice, especially since you guys use so called commuters for touring!

    Cheers
Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Haha, I am a tourer and thats why I use whatever resources I have..
This platina 125 pushed me to believe "rider matters not the ride" , though there are very less people like it ..
Thank you very much sir ...

Hope some day we will meet on Highway ..

              Here I'm starting the log..

              Before journey:
It was just another dream journey for me, but it was 1st long ride for my friend Saket and even his bike was brand new and just completed run-in..

Before the ride sujoy, sid & saket bought their riding gloves (I was already having), lots of other stuffs like biscuits, bread, jam pouch, extra food also packed with our luggage..

Ropes packed for emergency, tool kit is always with my bike in its side box..
              So everything was set..

Actually I planned to hit Valparai on 1st day itself but new rides were with me, so that was not possible..
So our 1st destination was Kolli hills, though I already have visited kolli hills once before ..

              Day 1:
              early morning ;
we wake up at 4am and got ready, came down to tie our luggage on our bikes.
For my bike it was just 2mins, as its usual for me..
But binding luggage in Passion Xpro, was slight tough..took 20 mins of time .. 5am we were ready to hit the road ..

Petrol filled and started riding on GQ, but let me show you the smog and fog on NH that morning

So our usual speed was too low, though after some time fogs started disappearing ,..

              morning high way

              just before krishnagiri..

              thats me & my bike

              close up

              on sweet NH

We reached krishnagiri in more than 3 hours means too much late from usual timings.

Our 1st pit stop, tea stop, butt break..Chk my bike , extra wires on tank bag, thats because of temporary mobile charge station..
Our heavily loaded punny bikes .

              and the posers..

sid, trying for new FB profile pic :P

Then we smoothly started cruising towards salem means another 130kms

              road side click

              what more we need.

              morning clouds were there

me & sujoy on my bike ..

              same

              Xpro just clocked 1000kms ..

thats Sid & saket on Xpro

              some amature photography on road..

Here we reached salem, but ??watt sun light started showing its effect..

sid & saket one more time

after corssing salem, we followed our GPS .......

Not much photo clicked before kolli hills..

              after started climbing kolli hills

              here we stated climbing

engine cooling break :P + Photo break

From left Sujoy, me , Saket

              My life on road

              altitude was increasing ..

And we reached Kolli hills at 1.30pm..
Trip meter was showing 370+kms ,quite slow riding

We took our room in Arrow mansion lodge, 1000 per night..
Freshend up ,went for luch and saket crashed on bed ..
After 1hour we started exploring kolli hills..

              To be continued ..

CC matters , but not that much, I have seen riders doing Ladakh on 100cc so why to worry, but some special care should be taken . Thats all..

Thank you ravi anna, Xpro performed good enough for a longer larger trip, its handling was too much good, feel like cloned from elder sisters .. Though it had slight less
torque, actually a/f mix was lean for that bike.. top was touching 87kmph.. But it handling rocks on that hilly road, I will post a pic of our cornering fun..
Mileage was 55-60kmpl superb , compared to my platina 125 which gives me constant 43-47kmpl
but except cornering Platina 125 scored a way ahead .. more topend , lottttssss of torque, softer suspension , and my 30k kms confidence on her :P
