Re: Chennai to kolli.... A breath taking trip....
So we started for the cruise... the only reason why we travelled for 400 km.. here comes the 1st bend, then the 2nd, 3rd and we completed the the 28th one and stopped at the 29th one. also asked Pooja to count all the hairpin bend. she counted the first 10 and then got fed up... we stopped at the 29th one to click some shots... here we go...
Me Rocking the roads
It was sandy's turn now.
Sitting on my love with my wife.. "Is that possible"

Yeh Dosti hum nahi torenge "Jai and Veeru"
Atleast 1 Picture toh banta hai....
Started off at 2:15 pm.... one bend after another we crossed... and finally at 3:00 pm we reached our destination.... Kolli Hills... checked the speed meter and found we covered 421 km....
We had done quite a research on hotels and resorts and found out that Nallathambi Resort was the best one available.. so checked into the same... have to say "not very impressive". the fans were not working... ac's didn't have any connection... the TV was not working... so called the manager named dinesh and was very upset... informed him at least we need a TV which was working because of the India Match... Oh forgot to mention I'm also a big time cricket fan...... so finally he agreed and shifted to another room... we freshened up... took bath.. but sandy was very scared of cold.. so he just freshened up as did pooja... I thought nobody had a guts to take bath at a hill station with cold water.... but suddenly I remembered I was the only one over there who belonged to a hill station {Darjeeling}.... so I didn't force Pooja as she had big time asthma problem.... so we went out in search of some food... as it was already 4:00 pm and Dinesh said that the restaurant was closed and there was not food available.... so we went in search of food and finally found a small stall.. so we finished out lunch by 4:30.. sandy and I decided that we would go in search of a nice view point so that we can click some photos.... so found a decent place with senric beauty and here we are with some snaps.. check them out....
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, 'Wow! What a Ride! ~Hunter S. Thompson
It was getting dark. so we decided for move towards the Resort... reached the resort and asked Dinesh if he can arrange for a camp fire... he said yes.. and the charge was Rs500 and also ordered dinner.. so we agreed so the plan was fixed for 7 pm camp fire and 8 pm dinner... we were happy.. and as soon as we reached the room it started RAINING..... so the camp fire was cancelled.. we had to stick to the plan of 8 pm dinner.. had the dinner it was pathetic.. please make sure you make an alternate arrangement for dinner if you visit kolli hills.. somehow finished dinner and started to plan for next day...
so the plan was 6:00 am me and sandy will go to view point for sunrise as I wanted Pooja to take some rest and didn't force her... and then at 10 am we will visit the akshya gangai waterfalls.. so went off to sleep... zzzzzzzzzz......
next morning woke up sharp at 5:30 am.... by 5:45 we started for the viewpoint... we reached there and to our fate there was no sunrise as it was covered with black clouds... bad luck...

so we decided to take some snaps.. here we go again.....
So left the view point by 8:00 am and reached hotel.. woke Pooja up and ordered some breakfast... by 10:00 am we started for the Akasha Gangai Waterfalls... We reached there at around 11:00... I had read that to get to the falls you have to climb 1200 steps down and up and that's around 2400..... I had no idea that it will actually be 1200 steps rather didn't have any idea as to what 1200 steps means like... so started the cruise for the Akasha Gangai Waterfalls.... believe me while going down the started feeling the pain.. the stairs were very steep..... was feeling like what will happen while comming back... The only thing in my mind was Pooja "How will she be able to climb up becuase going down was so tough". Seeing he face I told her lets go back as it was not even the 20% and there was a lot to come... And not to surprise she said "I want to see the waterfall". So started again for little adventure cruise... I was very scared what will happen I something happens to her over here because you can least except some help... but 1 good thing I did was I bought her inhaler with me.. it was a live saver.... while going down we took some snaps.....

Re: Chennai to kolli.... A breath taking trip....
CONTITUED FROM THE PREVIOUS POST.....
Finally after battling for around 1 hr.. we reached the end of the stairs... so looked at Pooja and was so scared... and finnaly we reached the along awaited waterfalls.... I turned towards pooja ad for the 1st time saw a big smile on her face..... She is just like me a nature lover {perfect match} .... so we sat on the rocks... looked and Sandy and asked if he wants to take bath in the waterfall not... he instantly replied back.. "pagal ho gaya hai" are you mad.. the water will be freezing.. I said I'm going in and took of my shirt and jumed at the water.... trust me the water was freezing just below freezing point I guess that's what they call.... but within seconds I forgot the coldness of the water... I had in front of me a waterfall waiting.... I remembered all the past memories from Darjeeling... and within minutes was in the water falls.... here are some snaps...
It was like the water was falling for heaven...
Sorry guy's had to post this pic with my tummy... I know it's looking pathetic...
It was already 1:00 pm so sandy asked me to come back.. but I was doing like a 5 yr old child.. I didn't want to come back. but then realized that we had to go back to chennai and already we were late... started back to climb up.... and trust me I was feeling on the top of the world... I told to sandy that the trip was worth it..... so looked towads Pooja she was struggling a little bit.. so we haulted for some time.. she took 3 shorts of her inhaler... and she was back on her feet.. we reached the top by 2:15pm and here we go....
This was us after climbing up the steps.... Hat's off to Pooja that she made it quite comfortably.....
We started back towards the resort and reached there by 2:30pm... I took bath and freshened... asked sand to settle the bill meanwhile... so we were on course for the last part of our trip... biding gudbye to Kolli Hills and promising to come back we started off our journey back home by 3:30pm... we reached chennai by 10:45 pm....
After we reached chennai...
I didn't mention anything on my logs about the journey back home because i'm very sad I had to leave Kolli Hills and come back... but it was really a breathtaking trrip.. after a long time.. and this is not the end, it's just a start of a adventurous life ahead of me.... I will make sure of that...
I wanted to Thank XBHP and fellow xbhpian mates in particular as they inspired be for the ride and let me share my journey with you guys.... A special thanks to Monk for the approval... And Thank You very Much to all who read the post.... I'm not that much of a blogger, infact this is the first time I posted any of my journey's... Hope you like it...

Getting angry at somebody is the same as getting angry with a bike that just won't go. You should stop and start thinking.
A good mechanic will let you watch even without charging you for it. |
It is funny to know that we've been imitated and copied so well and surprising when we notice our mistakes are copied as well.
