      Re: In Search of Peace

There was a lil fear in my mind before starting this ride and that fear was regarding the road conditions nothing other than that. My last long ride (560kms through Nallamala Forest ) has taught me many lessons where i have ridden through 40Kms of worst roads of my life under heavy down pour and in pitch dark conditions. But i decided to face wat ever the roads may come during this ride. So packed up all the necessary things for my ride and went to bed at 11:00PM and i was all the while thinking when is my clock going to Buzz and i was so much interested in this ride that i ended waking up at 1:00AM , 3:30AM to check my clock if its 4:00AM and finally at 4:00AM i heard the buzz of my alarm and woke up and got ready by 4:30AM and checked my things again and came down stairs and started my bike and mean while the engine was getting warm i tied my backpack ( in which i was carrying Foot pump, Pressure gauge, Mobile Charging cables, Puncture repair kit, Chain Lube and Some snacks ) to the rear seat and had put my magnetic tank bag ( i was carrying my DSLR in it ) to the tank and geared up and started my ride at 4:50.

By 5:15 AM entered into city and decided to take a snap of the focus of low beam from my newly installed Philips Xtreme Vision headlamp.

After taking the snap decide to roll on and take a break after reaching Eluru , i was enjoying my early morning ride with cool breeze hitting me though my meshed jacket and i was peacefully cruising at 80Kmph and light started coming at around 5:40AM as my view got better i have twisted my throttle and started cruising at 100Kmph passing through trucks and i was feeling lil bored cruising lonely and then a Swift Dezire car passed me at high speed and to evade my boring feeling i tried to keep up with that car maintaining safe distance and was cruising at 130Kmph. As i was riding through fields i ended up taking hits from bugs at that speed and in short time my visor was filled with blood from those insects but as i have planned to stop at Eluru i kept riding and to my surprise i saw a sign board showing Tanuku 20Kms ahead and i was shocked pulled my bike aside and took my mobile out and checked with my GPS and i was surprised to know that i covered 115kms in 70Minutes . So decided to take a break and clean my visor and in the mean while took few snaps too

The roads were too beautiful and i guess u can understand how could i cover that distance in such short time

After riding for few more Kms came across a beautiful location so decided to take some clicks.

The weather looked awesome and it was showing chances of rain but as i was riding ahead sun came out the clouds and started shining bright and i felt i was lucky. I decided to ride slow as if i ride at my pace i felt i would be in my destination before breakfast time . Had taken right turn at Gopalapuram from the highway to reach Amalapuram via Machavaram and i entered into Village roads

i was riding at a very slow pace enjoying my ride and crossed Machavaram at around 7:40AM and meanwhile i found a small hotel and decided to put something in my stomach and ordered Idly and it was very very tasty and i liked it very much and it was pretty cheap too 4 idly's for Rs 10/- . Inquired with the hotel guy regarding the road conditions ahead and started riding and mean while came across this location before reaching Amalapuram

Yep the roads were as beautiful as you are seeing in the above picture with very minimum traffic. I have thought of taking a snap of mine along with my bike at this location but i had to give my tripod for repair so couldn't but decided to take a self portrait

At a location named Muramalla after crossing Amalapuram if we take right turn we ll be going towards Mangrove Forest, there is nothing special about this place except a Light House name as Sacramento Light house built in 1902, and its 43mt above sea level near Pallamkuru and it was built in memory of Sacrimental ship which got submerged into the sea at this place.

After reaching Muramalla the time was aroud 10:00AM .Inquired from locals about the distance and about this Light House and to my surprise on local told me its 80Kms on hearing that another local scolded him for telling wrong distance and he told me its near about 20kms from here he guided me the way and that way looks likes this

i was riding slowly at 40- 50Kmph as the sand was too loose ,All through the way i was inquiring from the locals reg the way to the light house and many people gave me wrong directions and wrong distance figures but at last i could get correct directions from a local and am really thankful for him and after 1 hour reached the destination . Yes that 20Kms i did in 1Hour hope you understood the road conditions and how well i was guided by some locals. There were no proper road as i was nearing the light house and i had to ride through very loose sand to reach the lighthouse. After such a tough ride for 20Kms in hot sun i felt exhausted. Came across many beautiful locations and decided to click them while riding back.

Brilliant stuff bro. Loved seeing pics of Andhra all green and wet. And quite brave of you to venture out in troubled times. Did you find agitations/roadblocks anywhere though? Waiting for the rest... Oh and professional pics *Wow. Very nice on the eyes... Keep it coming.

It had taken me around 2 hours to do that 40Kms of off road ride, had lost most of my energy there itself and i was feeling hungry . To my luck when am about to cross Amalapuram agitators had blocked the roads and were shouting slogans and i had to wait for 30min and then a local guy came to my rescue. On seeing me he asked where r u riding to !and I said i want to go to Yanam and he told me that he knows the way out of this road block and asked me to follow him and took me through the paddy fields and i had to ride about 10Kms through a village to cross that road block while most of the heavy vehicles and cars were stuck back.

After entering into Yanam i have found a petrol bunk and i entered into it to tank up my bike. I have tanked up in Vijayawada and my CBR has consumed 9liters of petrol for 290Kms and as Yanam is a UT the petrol here is too cheap and the cost per liter of petrol was around Rs67/-. I have asked the people in the petrol station to guide me to a nice restaurant and they have showed me a restaurant which was right next to the petrol station and the restaurant name was Nallam Restaurant. I was surprised with the too cheap prices of the food in this place and i have ordered for tiger prawns curry and fried rice. They have charged Rs160/- for 8 tiger prawns .

After finishing my lunch started riding to Koringa which was my 3rd destination. It is around 25kms away from Yanam and the roads in Yanam were too beautiful with very minimum traffic and upon reaching Koringa have taken a ticket to enter into the wild sanctuary. Koringa wild sanctuary is famous for the wooden bridge which is 500Meters long and i have captured few shots of this beautiful wooden bridge.

but i dont know that whether they are being raised there or they are grown there, but they were very beautiful. I was too tired by then and it was around 3:00PM and i have one more destination to cover ( Rajahmundry) so dint go till the end of the bridge. Went back straight to my bike, lubed the chain and started riding towards Rajahmundry via Kakinada- Samarlakota.

The roads were well laid till Rajahmundry and in the process of riding after having such a tasty meal and for not having enough sleep last night i felt drowsy,So had to stop for every 30Kms wash my face with water. But i loved my ride. On reaching Rajahmundry , turned my GPS on in my Nokia mobile and started riding towards the famous Rajahmundry bridge also known as Godavari bridge or Kovvur- Rajahmundry bridge. It is Asia's second longest road-cum-rail bridge crossing a water body and i took the privilege of riding my bike on that bridge. I expected the road on that bridge to be butter smooth but i was wrong, iron supports of the bridge were protruding out and i had to ride my bike at 25Kmph all along the 2.7Kms of the bridge taking bumps. Pictures of bridge are below..

So started riding towards Eluru via Kovvuru and the roads from Kovvuru till Bhimdol( near about 70Kms ) were in pretty bad shape filled with potholes everywhere, i should say worst and i was lucky that still sunlight was there so that helped me to cover that distance in around 90Minutes

on reaching Eluru- Vijayawada route entered into NH and roads were good and i could cruise peacefully at 80Kmph and reached home at around 9:30PM.

                          --------------THE END----------------
