  • [Photo Feature]: Chitradurga fort - completely an unplanned short solo trip.

So, here I was browsing through Facebook when I stumble across a post from Ananth (TN xbhp) where he and Gourab dada (MG) were discussing about roads and windmills. This was at night yesterday. What was really interesting about the discussion? Windmills. I'd never seen them in person.
So I draft an immediate plan. Chitradurga it would be. That too solo! (though I asked a few friends, but they couldn't commit at such short notice.)

I took the most obvious route to and fro. Bangalore - Tumkur - Sira - Chitradurga. (Its a straight line!)

So, the plan was simple. Leave home by 4 AM. It was 12 already, hence I needed to sleep. But, there was a powercut in my area due to a tranformer failure and sleep eluded me. Don't know when I slept but it was 4:30 already when I woke up.
I was already behind schedule. I wanted to complete the trip and return back during daylight since Bangalore exit/entry roads on a Sunday evening are very chaotic.

Anyways, I could start only at 5:05 AM.

Reached Tumkur toll booth quite fast to see the sunrise.

She looks so much better than the upcoming ZMR.

After taking a few pics, I decided to move ahead as the sun was very strong today. I could feel it bite early morning.

On the way. Arrow straight roads.

Frankly speaking, the route was quite boring. Ride and just ride in a straight line. The destination comes up after 200 kms.

Entry fees to the fort are nominal - Rs 5 per person and Rs 25 extra if you have a video camera.

Not much to write about, so posting the few pics that came out good.

    Rider and his helmet.

    LOL.

    Me again.

    Mr Jaan Ibrahim.

Wonder whose feet are these, but people sought blessings from it.

Wonder how is this guy still awake!

Time to head back... Enough roaming around the fort. I'm hungry. (P.S - full exploration of the fort can't be done in 1 day.)

I head back towards BLR, when I see a dhaba on the road side.

And finally, the reason I went to the place - WINDMILLS.

Now time to head back home.

So, overall mileage received in the 400 km trip = 48.1 kmpl (approx.)

Ok guys, I'll come again to post a new trip log when there's one with proper planning. Until then....

He he, thanks for the approval sir jee. Is "poser" hero ko to bas photo khichwaane k liye bahana chaiye hota hai.
[I'm thankful to the makers of the tripod, else people would get pissed off while trying to get my pics with multiple poses.]

Well, he was the center of attraction already before I reached there. So, truly speaking; someone else found it.
This trip was 400 kms only, so it can't be called long, but yes the longest so far. I had done two 250 kms trip on the Zapper Q already. Completed 2100 kms on the tires so far.
