Re: Exploring Bisle: An Adventure like no other..
Nice triplog Suvra. Congrats on successfully completing this ride. Did you spot any wild animal in Bisle Ghat? There is a beautiful viewpoint in Bisle ghat where from you get almost 180 degree view of the valley. I was looking for that picture too. In addition, there are couple of watchtowers where one can stay in the night with permission. Please buzz me if you want to try that adventure.
On last visits of mine in this ghat, we have found lots of wild animals. Once Bisle ends towards the Sakleshpur side, there is a board (from British time), mentioning Arabina Sea and Bay of bengal... try exploring the significance, though it is easy to guess. There is a small pond just at the back of this board. Awesome place to take shower enroute.sigpic

Re: Exploring Bisle: An Adventure like no other..
thanks a lot for your wonderful comments. Only wild animals we spotted were monkeys. And yes we indeed came across the point which you mentioned from where you get a beautiful view of the valley. The problem we had was that it was continuously raining and the time we were crossing Bisle, it was already around 3pm. It took us some 5 straight hours to complete the Bisle stretch of 60 kmsOriginally posted by sakshar View PostNice triplog Suvra. Congrats on successfully completing this ride. . I would indeed like to try the watch tower adventure, would surely let you know if i plan. Coming to the board, yes indeed we saw the board (it was more of a stone) which mentioned Arabian sea and Bay of Bengal written over it in red ink. It was actually interesting because there was a big lake just behind it. Again, it was raining heavily, but i indeed managed to get a picture for the same. Though, did not stop over to find the story behind it.

Re: Exploring Bisle: An Adventure like no other..
As per the locals, the water on the Bay of bengal side, as written on the board, goes down to Bay of bengal and the other side, water goes to Arabian sea. Basically, this is a demarkation for the division of waterbody.sigpic
