Guys again dont belive the myth that the costiler a helmet the better it is. I have done an extensive search and almost all helmets are only crash tested for 7 to 10 meters per second. This works out to a 30-40 mph limit.

The above is the dot, ece and snell standards m2010 and m2015. The only thing superior about the more expensive helmets is that they have a double layered padding that has better impact absorbing.


From studds to LS2 use polycarbonate outer shell, the HJC, ARAI, SHOIE use a blended carbon fiber with titanium intertwined fabric set inside of a polycabonate resin making thme lighter and more re inforced.

This debate can go on and on, but just remember that if you crash and hit your head on the road at any speed anbove 75kmph, its all your luck if you survive.

Jan 2013 kolar - 2012 hayabusa black crashes killing the rider on the spot due to head injuries. He was using a Arai signet Q a 675 usd helmet. He crashed at 160 kmph.

March 2013 nelmangla - 2011 hayabusa black crashes into the rear of a truck, he was doing 80 kmph at time of impact. Arai - Corsair V Takahashi 3 Cost about 850 usd, alpineatar full riding suit. Rider survived with sever head injuries was in ICU for 3weeks. Multiple fractures in the right hand, left leg.

August 2013- GT650 rider was killed on the spot while on the begur cross strech. He was wearing a NOLAN X802R About 450 euros

September 2013 - the day before ganesha chaturti 2009 golden hayabusa crashed on the nice strech while returning from the bellur cross ride. The ride was in a coma for 2 weeks and still suffer from short term ameniesia. His helmet a shoie (not sure of the model). He was definetly less than 80 kmph becasue looking at the bike it only needs the right side faring change there is no other damage. Evene foot rest and exhaust has not signs of impact or abrassion.

The infamous bmws1000rr crash a shoie helmet cracked and the rider passed away in melleshwaram. The bike is being fixed now, but rider is no longer

So now folks if you still need some more info i can share details of another 6 crashes, from other parts of india, but do remember that its you who can save your self, ride at sane speeds do not take risks, gear will only save or protect you upto 80kmph.
