Ruturajiv, labeling 600 trailer pics was becoming time consuming hence just uploaded them.

In the travelogue u'll be mentioning their locations definitely..

I think the pic you are referring too is not of monastery, that scene in clouds is seen from Sarahan.

If that's not the pic you are asking then pls quote the image here and I'll mention the location.

I had been to Leh last year from Mumbai on bullet and had arranged almost everything of the ride on my own..we were 11 people along with a backup vehicle and mechanic..but the biggest mistake i did was took a few new riders along on the ride and repented from Day1. It was a 24 day ride from Mumbai to Leh to Mumbai..but we missed a lot many places and lot many moments on the way owing to attitude of the few new comers, late start ups, unwanted attitude issues etc etc..
doing solo or at max 2-3 people is the way to go if you really need to spend time admiring the beauty of nature in and around Leh.

I am planing another trip this year, although in a 4 wheeler (8 people are planning in 2 Xylos) and I wish to spend good amount of time doing some photography.

your blog is a good example of what a ride should be. although we are not as lucky as you to have a 36 Day Honeymoon period for this ride but have no options either..

lets see how it works out for us..

Mesmerized mate, spent an hour to view all pics but finally totally worth it , all the landscapes does looks like god's own canvas!

understood that why you didn't put much of the write up in this thread, all the photos were speaking/ writing all your story, you lived the life over there, helmet off!

Good to hear from you Rahul. What you have narrated is exactly what I went through 7-8 years ago. It is best to travel in groups of 2-3; max 4 of your close buddies. Solo riding will come with adequate amount of experience.

As for your question about camera gear, I used Nikon D7000 and D5100 along with 16-85mm and 70-300mm nikkor lenses.


Glad to know you went through all sets. Though will be writing a few words on it soon.
