98 accounted hairpins and a lots unaccounted, to be exact! :P

So, the trip began on a sweet early morning from Bangalore.
Took the Kanakapura exit off the NICE road and by no time reached Malavalli. I didn't take Mysore route for Gundulpet, cause, I just hate to ride the Mysore-B'lore road and I don't know why! Just after crossing Malavalli and before the sun was even there, it started to drizzle and it was all fun and a wonderful start to the ride.

Here's the sunrise, somewhere between Bannur and Nanjangud.
The route has some 15 kms of unlaid roads. Beware if someone is taking this route.



Stopped for a small photoshoot under a canopy of trees and for a waterbreak.



Crossed Gundlupet in no time and was cruising all the way, enjoying the wonderful morning!
Was all excited to enter Bandipur. The reason is, though my college was at Coimbatore never got a chance to ride through Bandipur although I have been to Ooty n-number of times.

Stopped here and there to click all the deers I spotted. Posting a few of them.

Crossed Bandipur and took the Gudalur route to Ooty.

Here's the rest!

After crossing gudalur, was riding enjoying the curves and the climate.
It was a cloudy afternoon and suddenly after a curve, I was stunned by the view I got.


Wilson Plantation, and here it is for your eyes.









Spent a good half an hour clicking lots of riding pics and left from there towards Ooty.
Then it was usual Ooty roads, you know, the curves, hairpins, coffee plantations and curves again...!


Reached Ooty by around 2 PM and decided to navigate directly to Mulli road without entering Ooty to avoid traffic.
Google Maps helped me a lot. Rode through some 5 feet wide streets and all and somehow found the exit to Ooty town.


And then it starts again.
Here starts the count,
1. Saw a 1/9 Haipin board and rode through it.
2. Then had another 1/34 and negotiated that whole lot too.




After this found a lonely place roadside and decided to have a break there and spent some half an hour at this wonderful spot.




Started from there and then came the surprise,




Nothing much after that, except for some true rider's delight.
The sound of footpegs screeching


Not much pics of the curves as I was only enjoying those curves.
Stopped again for a photostop., and here it is for you all...





What I was looking at in the above pic :P





So, happily and satisfied to brim, continued my curve carving and got to the bottom of the valley.

The important thing of the final 43 was,
No traffic, Well laid roads, almost all 43 on the same side of a mountain so that you'll get curve after curve...
no worries about losing your momentum... and it was all downhill!

There is a Hydroelectric project at the bottom of the valley, Canada Power House.





Finally, Mission accomplished!





Reached Coimbatore by sundown.
