There's always something special in dada's log, don't know what. Maybe its the writing, part complemented by the awesomeness of pics included.
In fact, I'd once told him, he has an awesome knack of judging angles for taking pictures. I'd be clicking the same subject, but once I see his captures, I simply feel humbled. Not that he carries a bazooka kit, but the craft of taking pics is either a natural art or learned through rigorous practice, which I have none. SuvraGanguly, take a bow!

Dada, bol bolke thak gaye ab, you are that awesome with words ad pics. The way you write your t-log and the photos you add with it, it feels complete. As usual awesome t-log, rated 5stars and a 3 dairy milks. Will always regret for missing out this wonderful trip especially after hearing that this trip consisted of ample amount of off roading. Better luck next time for I, me, myself. Now please upload the rest of t-log soon. Itna bhi bhaav mat khao bhai.

Leg 2

Making our tummy somewhat half satisfied, we decided to make our move and have lunch at Meghamalai itself. As I mentioned before, the highway was not a 4 laner any more, it was a 2 lane now, so we had to keep our eyes glued on to the road for any oncoming traffic and for any sudden overtaking moves from buses/vehicles. I was able to see small small hill ranges on both sides of the highway now, and the temperature started dropping down a bit. Good news for me, I was able to see bunch of clouds playing around above the hill ranges, so maybe, just maybe, there is a chance of showers uphill. Bad news for us, the temperature was still high enough to make us uncomfortable.

About 45 minutes into the ride and we glimpse a big range starting on the right of the highway. We were not able to catch the top of the range, such thick was the cloud formations on the top of the mountain. Few Kms after, we saw the diversion to the right that would take you to Kodaikanal. Already impressed with the mountain view along the highway, we briefly stopped at the junction, wondering if going to Kodaikanal would be a better idea because off course it tempted us. But some say when you are into something good, it is bound to happen! So, the clouds cleared in our mind as well, and we continued on our way to Theni. However, we did stop at couple of places to capture the mountain range running parallel to us

We entered the crowded town of Theni when we were surrounded with dark clouds. I felt really happy and overjoyed when it started drizzling. Anyways, I pulled out my phone and turned on g-maps to navigate to the right road that leads to Meghamalai. Whilst waiting at the junction, waiting for Sauban and Jeevan, some curious faces were gazing my steed and me, I am sure thousands of questions were popping out of their minds, but what to say, that awkward moment! Within few moments, I saw both Sauban and Jeevan approaching at my RMV and hence I showed them the right road and we three continued from there. All the way till Chinnamanur the roads are again in great shape, but the traffic was more because we were fairly into the day. It was 09:30 am and were around 30 odd Kms from Meghamalai. The rain gods have shown their back to me, the climate was chilly though, thankfully.

We had to take another left turn from Chinnamanur to take the Meghamalai road. This road was not a metal road though and was neither wide, you can say a typical modern village road. But, that was the fun of it. We were now surrounded by mountains from all sides and for obvious reasons we could not resist ourselves from clicking few pictures.

Sauban could not resist a pose..

Mesmerized by the landscape around us, we continued on our way. The road condition was now deteriorating and we were facing potholes and uneven roads now. But we ignored that completely as we got more visual treat for our eyes.

We were still 13 Kms away from Meghamalai when the uphill climb began. The roads were broken all the way, and when inquired with one local person about the road condition ahead, we got the confirmation that there is worse road ahead so it is better to take caution while riding uphill. I asked Jeevan and Sauban to move ahead slowly so that I can keep a watch on them incase any mishap happens to them, but my main intention was to take some pictures while going uphill. So, now, let me share some pictures and do less talking.

The more up hill we went, the road transformed into no-road filled with stones and sand. It was becoming difficult for all three of us to maintain a speed past 15 kmph. Adding to that, we started experiencing heavy crosswinds. Thankfully though, there was not even a single vehicle coming from the other side and we were able to make a steady climb. Around 5 Kms from Meghamalai, the landscape changed completely and we were surrounded by tea plantations all around us. Woah!! what a beauty that is! We forgot all the pain in our bum and kept staring at the beautiful scenery. And oh, I did not forget to take out my camera.

We looked around for places to stay. Asked some of the lads playing cricket on a ground and they guided us to a government guest house just beside the dam. Talked to the caretaker and luckily got one room available for the three of us at a nominal rate of 1000 bucks. We were tired like hell and the weather was pretty chilly around. Got freshened up and within an hour we went outside to have lunch at a adjacent small shop. Some shots taken from the guest house.

We were pretty much tired with the last part of our leg and we lied down to take some rest. And when all three of us woke up, it was past 07:00 pm, take that! We felt really bad since we had planned for a short nap and after that we wanted to go around the place for a walk or something.

Anyways, I guess we were left for another end of the day surprise. The moment we three went outside our room, we were spellbound by this.

We were surrounded by thick fog all around. It was an amazing feeling, truly. The weather was chill, much better than what I expected and let go the rains, my heart was happy to the core. We spent some time walking around the lonely and misty streets, laughing, chitchatting and making fun of each other. It was around 09:00 pm when we had our early dinner (we were told that dinner would close at 9:30 pm, so..) and crashed on to our beds in some time. I was recollecting the day lying down and I was happy that we chose this place to come over the weekend. I knew we had a bigger day tomorrow because we had lots to explore.
