The monsoon is fast approaching. Not an evening passes by with drizzle to heavy showers making it difficult for me to commute back home from office. And hell are the traffic jams in a fast moving city like Bangalore. Just when the things were on the verge of getting crazy, one fine morning my good friend/brother Sauban Ahmad showed an urge to go out somewhere. It was not long ago I went for the Kudremukh ride and Sauban missed it by a whisker. I happily agreed to this idea of riding in the coming weekend because I was anticipating the upcoming ride to be a monsoon ride. I asked jeevan.life to accompany us as well as he also showed interest to ride somewhere in the upcoming weekend.
I started browsing through the internet, ran through blogs, travel experiences, whatever I can to come up with a place to visit during the pre-monsoon season, where I can smell the wet soil and can feel the fresh shower on my face. Days went by but nothing attracted me, no, not even a bit. Suddenly, 4 days before the ride, I stepped onto a travelogue about Meghamalai. The place seemed perfect! With tea plantations everywhere, and with clouds flying past over them, it was exactly what I was looking for, and if it rains, my weekend would just be perfect! Went ahead to both Sauban and Jeevan and they promptly agreed over the destination. So, here goes the routemap.
The route seemed pretty much straight forward, however, when I tried to gather more information in the internet about the Meghamalai trail from Theni, I came to my observation that the trail in and around Meghamalai were merely trails, where roads were not existent at all. Anyways, excited, as always, I was waiting for the weekend to come.

The rest of the week flew by and finally it was Friday. We had already decided to meet up at my house in Koramangala around 02:30 am, Saturday from where we would start our ride. Finished off early from office and came home to do some quick packing and get some much needed sleep. By 10 pm I was dead sleep and I do not remember a thing until my alarm woke me up at 01:30 am. I started getting ready and in the meantime Jeevan message me saying he is already on his way to my house. Such a punctual chap, eh! (or I would say he did not get sleep because of the excitement?
