Re: Day Rides
This set of pictures was from Kurush and my breakfast run on Diwali day Nov 23 to Rustom's Strawberry Inn Panchgini. The morning air was cool and after a quick tea break before Wai, we began our ascent up the ghat to Panchgini. This stretch of road has deteriorated after the rains leaving us both disappointed. Panchgini was cool at around 10 deg and we tucked into some excellent Akuri and cutlets. On the return leg, we stopped at MAPRO before Wai to pick up strawberry jam for the folks back home which I packed into my Rynox tank bag. We switched bikes for a while on the straights and were home in time for lunch. This was a relatively slower ride due to the mismatch in bike power, nevertheless, it was nice riding with Kurush after a long time, the last time was in May when we rode to Goa - welcome back Kurush!Ride To Live

Re: Day Rides
This set of pictures is from a ride to Goa with buddies JP and Kurush Nov 6 - 10. The going was longer due to the two Enfield bikes suffering breakdowns at Chorla and we finally reached our hotel Sterling Villagio at 7pm. This evening we spent chilling out in the room as we were tired after spending 14 hours in the saddle. The next day, JP recommended we try out some local cuisine which was very nice, filling and reasonably priced. Kurush and I then followed up with a leisurely swim in the hotel pool sipping tea and chatting till the sunset. We then proceeded for the evening to a shack which was newly opened by our friend Francis at Colva beach. We had a grand evening with live music, superb food and true Goan hospitality. We woke late the next day and after a lazy lunch at Viva Goa which is Francis's first restaurant we roamed around a bit in Margao market. We slept early this evening as we had a early start for Ladghar via NH17 where we were to halt overnight at Pears resort. We got on to NH17 a shade before 11am as we met up with friend's Sherman (220 Pulsar) and Guru (R1). The Sawantwadi bypass which is a short 10km stretch saw both the R1 and Ninja open up the throttle. The NH17 from Sawantwadi to Chiplun is fantastically paved and a picturesque route indeed. As we were filming with 2 GoPro cameras we took our time on this stretch of bikers paradise. We reached Khed at 5pm and after a quick lunch we proceeded to Pears Resort in the dark. We finally found the hotel to which the approach entails around 5km of off-road riding. We were disappointed with the hotel and the service but quickly resigned to our fate as we were thankfully leaving early the next morning back for Pune. The ride back was uneventful though we enjoyed the khashedi ghat before Poladpur. The Mahableshwar Panchgini road especially after Pratapgarh is now in terrible condition after the monsoon. Kurush decided to carry on solo as he missed his boss and wanted to get to office. JP and I had a leisurely breakfast at Strawberry Inn and reached home by 1pm.
All-in-all, this was a memorable trip with some great experiences and the opportunity to spend quality time with good friends. Viva Biking!Ride To Live

Re: Day Rides
This update is after the ride to Goa in Nov 14. Since then, I have been riding every weekend and I can tell you that with such exhilarating weather each ride has been a treat. Most of the rides have been short morning rides to our usual spots like Lavasa, Amby Valley and Wai. A couple of rides that particularly stood out was one with Kurush to Amby Valley when he rode this Yamaha RD 350 which apart from a few niggles performed well into triple digit speeds and can leave 007 shaken and stirred. The other one and most recent on 17-18th Jan was an overnight ride to Ganpatipule via the superbly paved and curvy NH66 and NH17. This was a high octane and skill test ride for Gurpratap and I which we relished for the entire 630 km. Some pictures are from the bike show held at Amonara Mall, Pune.
My Ninja has now completed one year and run 17000 km, off which 95% has been highway riding.
It has been heartening to see the growing number of bikes this riding season and especially the youth who are out early in the morning for their rides all clad in proper riding gear, lids and enjoying this sport responsibly.Ride To Live

Re: Day Rides
JP was born in a household where travel and adventure was part of daily chatter. He chose motorcycling as his way of escape with endless miles. An engineer by profession, JP has been riding motorcycles for more than a decade and having worked with the core motorcycle industry he forms the backbone of the service crew at Motomonks. The confines of the office couldn’t hold him back and so he has finally renounced the creature comforts to pursue the greater comforts of adventure riding. A great friend, full of exuberance and experiences with his unbeatable laughter which passes on to you makes him the motorcycle guide you\'re looking for.
You can check out more about the motorcycle tours that JP and his company Motomonk specialize in.

Re: Day Rides
This set of pictures is from a ride to Mahableshwar. We were accompanied by our families, doggy Chica included. The plan was to take the kids Go-Karting and for lunch to Mapro. On this particular weekend 25th Jan the highway was super busy with a traffic jam on the ghat before Wai. However, the day was enjoyable and our girls enjoyed riding pillion on the bikes. We caught up for a short while with the Triumph group who were also out for a ride that day.Ride To Live
