Re: Day Rides
The morning air was cool and fresh as we set out for a breakfast ride to Lonavala. Gurpratap and his wife joined my wife and I on riding buddy Deep's Ducati Diavel which needed to be ridden while he is away sailing the high seas.

We stopped for fuel as the Ducati is a hungry bike and gives something like 14 km per litre of petrol and then proceeded to Ramakrishna for a super breakfast of medu vada, omelette, filter coffee and tea. We passed a lot of riding groups out including the Triumph gang who had a meet-up at Kamat Lonavala which is a little down the way from where we were.

We switched bikes on the way back and I rode the Diavel for the first time, which is a really powerful bike, though not scary power delivery like the Aprilla Tuono. Surprisingly there were vibes present thought the rev range which was unusual for a twin cylinder motorcycle.

Re: Day Rides
It was a relatively shorter trip when compared to some of the other rides that I have pulled this season but nonetheless enjoyable as always. In a way we were glad to be not riding in the afternoon which is nowadays becoming pretty warm.Originally posted by amods View PostGood trip and of course the rubber on Thrux is dope

Re: Day Rides
A quick update. Riding buddy Gurpratap underwent surgery at Jehangir Hospital to remove the steel plate & screws from his right leg which was inserted after his crash about one year eight months ago. The surgery was a success and he is recovering well though he probably won't be able to ride a bike for another month.

Re: Day Rides
When laid up and no riding happening, this is what we do. Eat, drink, celebrate and plan for another ride. I caught up with riding buddy Gurpratap and Anji for a relaxed evening and look forward to seeing Anji's BSA Super Rocket up and about in the near future.

Re: Day Rides
After a three week break, Gurpratap and I were out on a ride to Mahabaleshwar on Saturday morning. Surprisingly the weather was cool early morning at 6am right till we began our ascent on the ghat. Unfortunately the MAPRO outlet at Mahabaleshwar was shut at 8am so we chit chatted with a friendly bunch of bikers from Pune who were also out for a ride. We then stopped at the MAPRO outlet on the Wai road where we tucked into an awesome mini-sandwich and strawberry milkshake. On the return leg we encountered traffic and heat in Pune and were glad to get off the bike by 11.00am. Just the lone picture from our ride though there will be a short video to follow.

Re: Day Rides
Posting this update after a three week long break from no riding. Gurpratap and I went for a spin to Amby Valley and this time stopped for a cup of tea at a picturesque spot from where you can see the valley below. The morning air at 7am was cool and provided a welcome change from the scorching heat that we endure nowadays in Pune. It was heartwarming to see some other groups of bikers also out today fullfilling their passion for motorcycles. A pretty girl, who fancied my bike over the others parked at RK, began taking pictures of herself posing on my bike. Go Kawasaki, Go! Enroute I stopped at the new Kawasaki SVC to enquire about servicing my bike, charges etc. Someone broke a beehive whilst I was in the SVC and a 2 minute stop turned out to be 30 minutes long as I was trapped inside. An eventful morning indeed.

Re: Day Rides
This set of pictures are from Saturday's ride to Wai. We set out cautiously at 6am as it had rained the previous evening and the roads were still damp in the city. However once we were out on the highway the throttle was opened up and we made quick time to cover Khambatki ghat and then stop for a cup of tea and vada pao. We returned home amidst an overcast humid morning at 9am.

Re: Day Rides
Gurpratap and I went for a quick early morning spin to Wai on Saturday. The traffic despite the early hours was heavier than usual so we skipped Khambatki ghat and just stopped for a cup of tea and vada pao after which we returned home by 8.45am. This ride was dedicated to champion rider Nicky Hayden RIP.
