I was just wondering Ken, what kind of average speed do you keep up? I mean, I was just calculating, by keeping a 70kmph average one can actually cover 850kms in 12 hours! That means I could ride from Bangalore to Delhi in about 20hours if I kept up an average of 80+ (of course only on a SuperBike). Is it actually possible to average at 80+ in real riding conditions inspite of touring on an SuperBike?

About average speeds, it is possible to do 500+kms in less than 6 hours stopping every 200kms for gas, toilet, a 20 odd minute break.

Why stop every 200kms? Is that the range of an R1?? 20 odd mins break every 200kms and 6hours for 500kms is awesome! Bangalore-Delhi will be a piece of cake then!

If you read my other threads, "Way of Living" and Touring threads, you will notice that it is not just the R1 range. The R1 can do till 240 before the reserve light comes on. I fill her up before. Every 200km, (approx) I need to stop to drink. You get dehydrated riding on a motorcyle. You need to take care of your fluid levels remaining at reasonable levels to keep the toxins low and eliminated to be able to keep going for longer hours and live longer in life in general. Also stretch your neck and back and wrists and everything else that gets cramped after long hours of riding on Superbikes through unforgiving Indian roads. And refill her up at the same time since you do not know when you are going to get the next fuel bunk!

I have heard of the "king size life". But you just took it to a whole new level. Excellent stuff!!!

The pics themselves gives the royal experience to the readers.To add to that your write up is a bonus.Absolutely rocking stuff.

We'll I'v read pretty much all of your other threads, but I guess I missed out on this fact!

In Delhi/Rajasthan and a lot of places around, the temperatures soar pretty high because of which it is all the more important to keep yourself hydrated. Is this the same case during winters? Because down south you could comfortably do a 250+ in one shot before you require a break(on an Indian motorcycle!). But of course we usually prefer to take breaks much more frequently because the destination becomes less important to the ride.I believe its not difficult though.

I'm actually a lil shocked by the 240km range of the R1. No wonder Akhil keeps making a plan specifically on refill points for his R1. But I think his planning is more to do with the quality of the bunk/fuel, because not having a refill point for 200kms down south is nearly impossible.

..... I dont know Dada ... I think the only way I can speak and express myself would be when I do a ride with youn (if ever I can)...but then your R1 and my RX100 would be a total exotically contrastive combination where you would be doing 500kms in 6hrs and I think I would be doing in around 10hrs

and being your pillion on R1 -- Moon Mam would be better to answer that isnt it

and yeah she is looking beautiful in white saree standing along with R1....its like rich culture with latest technology type of combination pic.... Jesus Ken Da another marvellous piece of thread you have their..... I am mesmerised actually

As for knowing these places... it is my job to know these places; I know tonnes of such places. You can come along on the rides if you feel like... does not matter if you reach a little late. You will enjoy the ride and the place.
