Situated at 4587 meters above sea level, Komik (also written as Kaumik) is definitely one of the highest motorable villages in the world, if not the highest. The road that goes to from Kaza in Spiti valley is a nightmare for any vehicle, be it a 4x4 SUV or a motorcycle, and that makes reaching Komik a real challenge for a motorcycle as well as the motorcyclist. What makes matters worse is the low level of oxygen at such an altitude that makes breathing a difficult task for the bike as well as the biker.
The Benelli TNT 300 ridden by Anirban Banerjee, an xBhpian from Kolkata, performed flawlessly during this treacherous journey and felt completely at home.
