I literally cursed myself for not reading this one on 31st itself, just now browsing the Facebook and read about this travelouge on xbhp page and immediately start reading it [emoji4]

Man you sure are a hell of a rider who got a hell of a machine [emoji106]

Now I am eagerly waiting for the next update about the ride and your health also [emoji106]

This 5K madness has been inspired by someone I know through FB and has been travelling the world for the past 120 days on his BMW (dont know the full name of the bike).

Thanks bud .. appreciate it. This was nothing short of FUN and i am already working on plans of a long one in the near future.. destinations and directions yet to be decided though :P

    12th August 2015
    Udaipur to Daman

    Distance travelled: 594 kms
Route taken:Road conditions: AWESOME all throughout. Beware of spell bounding landscapes which can throw your timing off schedule since you will not want to ride or drive fast to cover miles. SH5 is a DREAM to ride on. My two cents worth : try to include this highway on your route if you riding / driving through, you will not regret it. On the NH8 post leaving Udaipur take a left from Samalaji (about 20 kms post entering Gujarat. This is the ride in heaven; SH5 and continues right until Vadodra Bypass where you again join NH8 (be prepared for a more than harsh jolt back into reality guys !! )
    Departure time: 0730 hrs.
    Arrival time: 0830 hrs.
    Time in saddle: 10 hrs.
    Total breaks: 3 hrs.

I was hesitant at first to try out the chutneys however the temptation was too hard hard to resist. I took a leisurely stroll around the area with people staring at me, in gear, as if I was an alien from Pluto who had landed on the Earth and amid curious questions.. Click image for larger version

ID:	1919096There are then I decided on the change of route and planned up the short ride to Daman.

I covered the entire distance to Daman in about 40 minutes due to the rush on the roads at the same time silently thanking my stars I did not push for Nashik because I realized I could never have done it. Nevertheless, reached Daman and there began my miseries for the day. Trying to locate the hotel which I had booked on the fly with Goibibo was tougher than finding a needle in the haystack. Add to that language differences and you have a deadly recipe for frustration.

Finally after about 45 minutes of hunting, inquiring, google mapping I was able to get the hotel.

Thanks Akshay I really appreciate the comments and needless to say I have only xBHPians to blame for this act of mine. The quality of travelogues and the mentally biketarded fellow xBHPians made me realise what i was missing out in life. This would be a ride to remember for the rest of my life; putting my body and my stallion to a gruesome test which both of us cleared unscathed and with rollicking colors.

Boss I will just say this much... from Dharwad to Bangalore is 400 odd kms and I consistently kept her up in the high 90s to low 100s for those 400 kms because of the pristine road conditions and minimal traffic. The 7100 oil performed brilliantly with minimal heating. No doubt the mileage was screwed up in that segment but who cares when the NS is so much fun to ride. You can keep him up there at high 80s, 90s the entire day and at the end of the day you ask him if he is ready for another ride he will still respond with the same roar as it did before; the engine just is so revv happy - the higher the revvs the happier the engine. The engine ... simply put .. is a masterpiece.

From Pune to Bangalore I averaged about 75 kmph over 900 kms .. do I need to say anymore bhai about the cruising capabilities of this engine.
