Re: 15 days ... 5000 kms .... 1 Pulsar 200 NS ... 1 soul
Day 1 - Delhi to Udaipur
Distance travelled: 702 kms
Route taken: Road conditions: Moderate to bad road conditions from Gurgaon to Jaipur Bypass with many diversions. Please do not check the NHAI website for road completion since it is all a lie mentioned on there. Jaipur Bypass to Kishangarh is a biker's heaven with butter smooth roads and keeping speeds in check is a tad hard. Bad stretches post hitting Kishangarh BP however the road smoothens out post that all the way to Udaipur. Beware of moving on NH76 since most of it is single laned with horrible traffic. Post Barada the roads are horrible, not with potholes but with undulations all over which can make you lose balance quite easily.
Departure time: 6:30 am
Arrival time: 8:30 pm
Time in saddle: 11 hrs.
Total breaks: 3 hrs.
Avg. speed (actual):Check out the roads ... AWESOME is the word !!! (not to forget the spell binding landscape)
My stomach, by now, had again started growling from the hunger and I thought it better to stop and give it some food and my steed some rest at the same time. The skies had become overcast with clouds and rain was evident which it did. I pushed along searching for a decent dhaba to stop at the satiate my hunger. I found a Fauji Dhaba, and my oh my, it was the best bhindi masala and dal fry which I had for a really long time.
P.S. The Kishangarh bypass does not have any markings, to get on the bypass we need to take a left from the first fly-over perpendicular to the Ajmer expressway post the Kishangarh Toll Plaza.
Since it was raining, and the view across the highway was just too tempting to move on I decided to extend the break and sit here sipping a cup of steaming hot tea, whilst enjoying the beauty of nature, a view which could never be seen in Gurgaon. For me it was like being in heaven !!!
I took a few clicks and wished that I could take some clouds along with me, the clouds were so close.
Once the rains stopped, I decided it was time to move on. I wore my rain suit and was looking like a scientist who had come to capture ET. I stopped to refuel twice more on the way, where I took leisurely breaks admiring the scenic beauty of the route and making note of fuel consumption.

15 days ... 5000 kms .... 1 Pulsar 200 NS ... 1 soul
Ever since i had flown to Bangalore and seen the natural beauty around the place i always wanted to experience it in person. Thus, began the planning of this crazy trip. I asked a few friends of mine if they would like to join in however they all gave me looks as if I was mad or something upon hearing that the trip was 5K kms long. I then decided to this alone if no one was willing to join in. Since I knew this was going to be a super hectic trip with over 5000 kms to clock I took my own sweet time in stocking up the supplies and building my stamina up for the ride.
After a lot of deliberation, countless visits to Google Earth and Google Maps and most importantly, after tons of advice from xBHPians I ended up on the following, which is the route that i took :
August 11th : Gurgaon to Udaipur via Kishangarh / Bhilwara / Chittorgarh
August 12th : Udaipur to Daman
August 13th : Daman to Pune
August 14th : Pune to Bangalore
August 14th - August 19th : Rest days plus days for getting bike services etc
August 19th : Bangalore to Karwar
August 20th : Karwar to Goa
August 21st : Goa to Pune
August 22nd : Pune to Vadodra
August 23rd : Vadodra to Udaipur
August 24th : Udaipur to Gurgaon
There were some last minute changes to the plan due to some unforeseen health variations and traffic conditions. I generally used to start riding early morning like around 0600 - 0630 hrs and then used to ride on until about 2100 hrs max if the need be (as it turned out to be the case along a few segments)
Following is the vitals :
Total kms travelled : 5186 kms
Total fuel consumed : 148 liters
Mileage : 36 kmpl
Avg Speed throughout the trip (actual) : Who cares

I am in the process of writing up a detailed travelogue however is taking up a bit of time since have been super jolted back to reality once I have returned to work. I am attaching a few pics from the trip. Once I wrap up the travelogue I will have the online link for the same posted on here for you all to view and provide me some advice as to what did I do good / what not so that I can improve upon my next trip.
Some pictures have been attached below...
Lovely weather lovely roads
I just wish I could catch some clouds and bring them home
The NS goes to Jog
Lost in the woods
Like I mentioned I am in the process of writing up a travelogue so please bear with me.
I would like to thank all you guys for the advice which was given regarding road conditions and other planning tidbits. I really appreciate it.Tags: None
