                    Re: Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai

                    Closure: Hyderabad to Pune

Be it finishing a ride or finishing a log, closure is the toughest part... Agree!!!

I had a full gala time at Hyderabad for one week, that's lot of home and home food to absorb... Successfully covered two marriages of three friends... Yes, read it again that's right!!! Generally when I start to write I feel short of space to write but now I am falling short of words, just can't sink in the feeling of completing a whole 2000kms ride by myself completely alone yet never feeling lonely... Sad part is, at the end of ride you reach home, but here I am leaving home... Okay, that's enough let me take you through the details of the last day ride...

I never doubted that I will take the route of Hyderabad-Pargi-Sedam-Gulbarga-Aland-Akkalkot-Solapur-Pune as I covered 80% of the route during my first stint of Pune to Kurnool. At the back of mind, I am little happy I know my route, but little confused to take the same route rather than exploring another route. My friend from Hyderabad visited me night before the ride in Hyderabad and advised me to take NH9 route via Zaheerabad... This is not at all advised by my many rider friends and heard very bad reviews of the route... He told me that route is repaired only small section is bad and rest all is very much made... Then I thought how bad can it be? Let's take the route for a change... Man!!! That's a blunder

I started from Hyderabad to Pune on Feb 21st 2016 at 5:15 AM as planned. My mom came downstairs to the parking to give a send off, I was emotional inside my helmet but I never showed that to my family being THE BIG SON they look upto. She too was praying and blessing inside her heart and wished me a safe ride

I touched NH9 in 5mins as it is just 3kms from my home and it runs about 30kms in the city, this was the only the best part... Once I was out of city, the road shatters itself into pieces in dark... The road is now single lane on each side with no divider or only one lane altogether... I had another 1 hour to ride before sunrise and within 15mins I am completely torn off because of the potholes and the high beamed vehicles in opposite lane... I was riding at mere 30-40kmph and yet I am not able to escape those potholes... There was only one way, either to slowly go through the potholes or dodge them if you see them well in advance... High beamed cars and trucks will make sure you see nothing, so I was riding slower slower and slower.... There were two occasions I fell into a big and cruel pothole with a big jolt to my body and bike... I was praying nothing should happen to front fork and front rim

This time I am riding from East to West, this means I can't see the sunrise view, but RS's RVMs made sure I had a good HD view of the happenings behind me... The view was astonishing, while sunsets are orangish sunrises are reddish I might be wrong on my observation... So finally it was time to take a stop and click some pictures with my mobile cam... These are the times, I miss DSLR.. Having got addicted to DSLR for two big years, any picture click in my mobile is less satisfying to my eyes I started riding again with a hope of roads getting better... This is the same hope which I killed after another 30kms and I started waiting for Solapur to arrive sooner...

I took a tea halt at a big toll, about 150kms before Solapur. This was a truck halt so there was enough space for me to stretch, adjust my gear and my spine more importantly... After this even the roads were bad to average, the landscape changed... I am now riding amidst some mountains and open roads... While I was enjoying the scenic, now that I am into broad day light number of vehicles on roads increased. Dangerous was to ride with local buses who take everything on their ego... For them, he owns a bike, he owns a sports bike, he owns a good looking bike, he overtook me, he honked at me, he waved at me everything hurts their ego... I was talking to myself inside my helmet to keep myself concentrated on the road. I touched Solapur ring road at about 1030AM that's a fair time considering the road and ride...

I went past Solapur and then entered Pune-Solapur expressway with a thought that I will stop for food somewhere in between. I hardly took 3 breaks of 10mins of break in total till now and my body was begging for a cozy AC restaurant to settle in. But then I was going past all the good hotels because either they are on the wrong side or they don't have a covered parking or I notice them too late to stop from 120kmph... Finally I stopped at a Dhaba with a iron roof hot as hell... This had Nilkamal chairs, Table fan 100mts away from me and a 14" CRT TV with Sunny Deol's movie... Completely opposite of what I thought of my cozy stop I had a face wash to refresh mentally and Poori Bhaji with Lassi to refresh mentally. I left that place in 20 minutes as I couldn't keep myself away from Expressway waiting for me

Speed run begun and I am determined now my next stop would be my Master Bedroom with a 4ft bath tub Yes I have that

After a soothing 100kmph averaged 1.5hrs of ride, I reached Hadapsar from where I had to reach Hinjewadi which is 30kms away... I wonder why Pune doesn't have a Ring road here Yes it is full of bad planning of PMC and PCMC together ...

I reached my home at 2PM... On calculations it was a 8hr 30mins of ride, out of which I was on saddle for 7hr 30mins... Is that slow? I am not sure... All that matters is I reached home safe with less damaged bike (Only damage I see happened is increase of vibrations from front fairing and dirty/dusty bike, nothing more than this)

I cooked some food, had a quick bite and then a quick bath before I helped my friend shift his apartment.. Ya the day was not over for me physically... The only good part after the ride is a dinner party at night from friends which was soothing at V-deck Hinjewadi

Thank you all for reading and encouraging me to write more... Will post the pics for this chapter as a separate post

Adieu... Hope I ride more and See you all again in next my T-log

I have recently shifted to Pune from the Dearest Hyderabad and not able to cope with the environment. May be because my beloved 220 is still in Hyderabad which I am planning to bring to Pune via road.

Thanks buddy... Safety is the first check list I do before I start on a ride... Coz after an exciting ride I would definitely need to come back home to discuss about it...
