    congratulations for CBR250.
you made a wise decision of getting the fairing off while touring.
    1. it makes cleaning spark plug easy
    2. you become somewhat carefree if there is no fairing while off roading and speedy turns.
Go ahead with writing your experiences as well, good luck with that.

This bike was borrowed from a friend, though I got Repsol edition now

We never get carefree, ride in our limits, if someone wants to ride carefree and push their limits Track is always their, but i assume you have written it in casual manner :P, but still we feel leaning in our capabilities in the corner is safer bet, than leaning too much and crashing.. Happy riding

Yes, we stayed in Hornbill Resort, bang on the Kali river, awesome place with not too expensive tarrif, food was also fine.

        thanks for encouragement.
        congrats for new ride.
unfortunately we dont have race tracks in or around Mumbai.

by 'carefree', i dint mean 'careless' though in other words we can say 'fearless', 'tension free'... there may be some perfect word for what i meant, but i am not so well versed and very short vocabulary.

whenever i see full fared bike and think of riding it, broken fairing of my friend's R15 comes in front of my eyes which fell down on pebbles while negotiating with slush on offroading patch at mere speed of 10kmph. you know 'doodh ka jala...'

by " ... and think of riding it" i mean, i ride with narrator whenever i go through a travelogue.

Amazing ride and narrative! Naked seeber is the best idea ever! For messy, wet rides it's a perfect solution! Planning to go for my next purchase the R3 and I'd surely try this manoeuvre thanks to your post. Cheers!

PS My friend who rides a CBR uses a radiator guard he got from aliexpress and it works wonders to keep the slush and pebbles away. Perhaps it might be of help to you too.

          Happy miles!

The best part is that shipping is free, it takes about three weeks to arrive. I have always ordered exquisite stuff from Aliexpress which is not even remotely available in India anywhere and boy, the Chinese never fail to impress Happy WROOMING!

                    CHAPTER 3 - “DAY 3”

                    “Just Push the Pause Button”

                    Day3 (Sat) - 12/06/2015

Route – HornBill Resort -> Syntheri Rocks -> HornBill Resort

                    Kms – 60 kms

Somebody said it right “Give yourself a break, Rest days are not optional“

We were staying in a resort which was named on a famous bird called “Hornbill” when we woke up in the morning these birds were chirping all around our cottage the sound of it were so saccharine that it filled our hangover morning into a sweet dawn.

The sound of river flowing in front of our cottage was so inviting that when we woke up the 1st thing I did was rushing to the bench which was placed in front of river, closing eyes and thinking how beautiful god has painted this nature…life is so beautiful !! We would have never understood this if we would have not travelled till here!! And then that feeling of not doing any damn thing today. Made my mood Super happy! Wuhuuu !! It’s a RESTY DAY!!

That's the palace where we stayed

After concluding with our breakfast the 1st thing we did was going for a boating in “Kali River” actually it is called as Kali River because it has black stones beneath which make the water look black like. Sachin my Personal and professional photographer took some amazing shots, after seeing some of his pics literally gave me goose bumps.

Sometimes I think he has so many Qualities, I mean if he would not been an IT professional he could have been in so many other professions…

Well proceeding our day with the next activity which was lined up after boating was to see a natural Jacuzzi and get drenched in it. Boating is such a good exercise, after riding I think boating was something that fascinated us. We were eager and excited all over again to boat to our next destination “NATURAL JACUZZI”.

Tucking up the Life jacket we hopped into boat for some fun filled bubbles awaiting us.

When we reached the spot I was so amazed to see the person who was so incredibly riding his boat and the best thing was when he parked his boat between 2 huge stones. Truly we should never undervalue anything, everything you or others do needs a handful of proficiency in it.

The thin boy who dropped us till the natural Jacuzzi was named “Krishna” he asked us to get off the boat and asked us to enjoyieee some mind blowing bubble massage. The flow of water was too high so understandably I was afraid to enter the stream, somehow holding the big stone I managed to sit in those bubbles and then for next 45 mints I was fixed up there. It was such a bubbly fun that even though the tiny boat boy asked us 100 times to get moving We ignored him < Best thing was, Since it was Monday they did not had much customers to serve so even the guy was in chillaxed mode>

                    Narural Jacuzzi..aaahhh it was fun!

Almost after an hour we realized how tanned we became lying under water and sun, so we took a move and hopped back into our sawari.

Actually when we are under water enjoying and having fun we don’t understand how tired we become, it is only after getting out from there we realized how drained we were.

After boating for some 10 minutes...Krishna asked us to stop boating, stiffened our life jacket and asked us to jump. First I thought he was joking but later to our horror he was serious about every word he uttered.

He was continuously consoling us saying “River is not so deep”, “Life jacket will not let you sink, in fact even if you want to get drowned, Life jacket is such that it won’t let you do so and will definitely make you float”.

Almost after 15 minutes we took a deep breath and decided to give it a try and this time I thought to take an initiative and jump in river before Sachin, that moment I got a thought that I am attempting a suicide but don’t know why I wanted to try this and moreover there is always a 1st time of everything you do in your life and with all thoughts good or bad I jumped in water. I went deep inside thinking that I would never show up but just after a moment I started floating up, again went down and then floated. WOW I was alive and believe me it was FUN !!

“If you are trying something stupid and if it works, it isn't stupid. Your biggest failure is when you don’t “TRY!”

After that we jumped multiple times into river which was of so much thrill and then is when Krishna informed us that this river is something 100ft deep which scared hell out of us and we asked him to lift us up inside the boat immediately. It was another task to get on boat where the thin boy has to pull us from water up to boat <We will upload a short video of same and believe me you guys will die laughing when you see Sachin getting lifted by the thin boy up over on to the boat>

Even after playing and jumping in waters for 2 long hours we were still not contented. When we reached the shore we asked the person if we can stay in water for some more time and he allowed us saying “Yes” but only with the Life jacket on.

Playing, Jumping, Giggling, drinking water through nose, ears , We finally realized how hungry we were. Rushing back to our cottage we got freshen up <The best thing
about river is you don’t feel dirty because of no salty texture in your feathers>

Chicken Masala, Bheendi masala, Shahi tukda, Kulcha…, there were so many things that treated our hungry stomach and nearly after 30 mints we realized that since we started our lunch we did not articulated even a single word, it was only food on which we were concentrating <Thanks to food at least there is something in universe that can shut our talks for some moment otherwise we are kachar-kachar, even while riding and that’s is why we haven’t bought blue tooth device yet..lol>

We decided to take a quick 30 minutes power nap and visit Syntheri Rocks which was some 35 kms from our hotel <Power nap is miracle for your eyes and body> In just 30 mints we were so refreshed that we were all set to jump back in river

Since the distance was just 70 kms to and fro, we thought to take both the motorcycles and enjoy the twisty in dusk, However we were delayed by 30 minutes since we did not had much petrol in CBR nor we had a small pipe to transfer petrol from MOJO to CBR, So we requested a hotel staff to help us get some petrol which costed us 100/- inr per litre. We took 4 litres of petrol because petrol pump would be available only once we reach “Haliyal”

We enquired about the route with few of the hotel staff they said that the roads are straight from our hotel with good tarmac. On safer side we also kept on enquiring about the same as we were proceeding but we took a wrong turn from Some village and there is when we were greeted by worst of roads. We were completely LOST even after 25 kms of off-roading, we were unable to find the exact route. Thanks to that old gentlemen for directing us to the correct path, also we were so very much thankful to him that he was able to speak good hindi..

We came out from the trail on the Left hand side, but while returning we took good road on the right hand side

We were aware that 5.00 PM was the closure timing for Syntheri rocks, on our way I even told Sachin that now it’s no use to visit there. We finalized the route again by asking few people on way, they even said that we won’t get entry inside since the same happened with them and now they are returning back, since it was just 10 kms away so we thought to try our luck

When we reached the spot there were few people standing on gate asking us to go back since they cannot give entry to anybody post 5.00PM
We started pleading them like poor’s saying that we visited all the way from Mumbai to see this place <the white lie> and I thought to gain some feminine sympathy from them

Begging for some more minutes and they allowed us to move in “WUHUUUU” Losing hope never helped anybody and after conquering “Leh” Sachin & I have promised each other that we would never lose hope EVER…

OVERALL, LIFE IS A BEAUTIFUL STRUGGLE SO WHY LOSE HOPE !

We rode for some more 2 kms after getting the entry, jumped off the bike, descended few stairs and here we were in front of THE SYNETHRI ROCKS
I literally got goose bumps when I saw the green water flow which had the disclaimer saying “DO NOT SWIM IN THIS WATER” of course it was understandable it was suicidal to jump in those dangerous looking water.

The board also said that “13 are gone don’t be the 14th” Thoda masti ke liye log apani jaan gawah baithe ha, arre unko kya pata jaan se badi cheez ish duniya mein koi nahe ha” <For smaller fun people lose there life>

We clicked few snaps <Obviously!!> And thanked god for safe journey so far, thanked our motorcycles to swing in those rocky surface and get us there

                    Airavat posing near syntheri rocks..

Keeping our promise we immediately returned to the main gate where people were waiting for us to show back. Giving some token of thankfulness we left from the spot and reached our resort before dusk.

It rained too heavily that night after we reached our hotel. Winding up with our dinner we packed our stuff for our return journey i.e from Dandeli to Mumbai -700 kms
And we started snoring after ending up another beautiful and adventurous day with smile on our face

LOVE YOU RIDING … The adrenaline burn which you feel when you are riding a bike is nothing but a “SOUL HEALING”

                      CHAPTER 4 - “DAY 4”

                      “Long Way Up”

                      Route – Dandeli – Belgavi - Mumbai

                      Kms – 620 kms

Since we had a clear mindset that we gotta cover 600 plus kms on our last day we dozed off early to get atleast 8 hours of complete sound sleep.
We completed our packing in the night itself so that we don’t had to rush hush in morning.

6.00 am we woke up and was all ready to take a move by 7.00. Our best friend for last 2 days was sad as we were leaving so he came to see us off.

We 3 enjoyed the biscuits as our breakfast and then sadly it was time to wave him GOOD buy he was watching us go till the last turn until we were out of his sight....

After being sad for some time I recollected myself as we gotta reach Mumbai before dusk and seriously It’s a human behavior that you mould yourself into what you want at least, I cannot be sad for longer time, Moreover life is not about getting stuck up with one thing.

CBR was performing outstandingly awesome in those twisty turns. The CBR which I took for this ride wasn’t ABS one <if non ABS version is such how ABS version would be under panic breaking where most people commit mistakes> and I was so happy just by the feeling of it :P

After crossing “Haliyal” we thought to stop for breakfast and here is when I would like to appreciate Sachin’s eagle eye. We stopped to drink water and discuss our further route where Sachin saw this small Hut like shop which was exactly opposite to where we were riding and he said that I can see some hot smoky idlies getting served in that shop. My reaction to his saying was not great since the shop looked too messy and very small.

“DO NOT GET CARRIED AWAY BY THE LOOK” perfectly suits the place where we stopped to have one of the amazing and delicious breakfast. The smoky idlies and Neer Dosa with Sambhar & coconut chutney was bliss for our hungry stomach walls, cherry on cake was milk tea it wasn’t milk+water tea it was purely milk and ginger tea

What a delicious and refreshing start of day..

We were full for next 4 hours and since we had good running bikes we planned to cover as much distance as possible.

Till we reach Belgaon roads were narrow two lane but traffic wasn’t there at all, post Belgaon we hit the NH4 and Continuous butter tarmac welcomed us and 120 kmph made our life and ride smooth and enjoyable. We often practice that on our last day we avoid taking much photography breaks so that we reach our home sweet home flawlessly and can resume with our normal routine.

You won’t believe and in fact even we did not believed that by 2.30 pm we made it till Pune <Hats off to our fast Motorcycles> we thought to skip our lunch but we ended up eating loads of JUNK in famous wada pav centre of Pune near waked itd “Joshi Wadewale”.

The best thing of riding is you eat, sleep, pee, and do whatever damn thing you feel like. ROADS are all ALL YOURS.

                      Hard work

Even to our surprise we reached home by 7.00 covering 600 plus kms for the day this is how riding better motorcycles helps you in covering up distances without taking risks or doing rash overtake which we never do but sometimes some overtakes are meant to be taken after all that’s what biking is all about to have fun and have it with utmost precision and it does increase your reaction time and presence of mind.

Beautiful sunset just before reaching home!
What a way to conclude the ride

We were too happy after striking out one more adventure from our bucket list and the best thing was that we completed ride faultlessly, no fall, no breakdown nothing at all. Everything went in the same way as we planned it.

People asked us “Why are you guys planning 4 days trip, what’s the special occasion?” We just smiled and said “NOTHING”

DO YOU NEED AN OCCASION TO PLAN A TRIP?

Don’t wait for perfect moment, Take the moment and make it Perfect.

It was neither our birthday nor our anniversary or any other occasion we were just celebrating one precious thing and that is called “LIFE”!
