ABOUT MEPREPARING FOR THE RECORDwhich was the first such attempt in India by any rider.Live > Ride > Explore : Fastest Golden Quadrilateral Expedition in Motorcycle * The Incredible 89 hours Ride of the Life Time – Mind Over BodyTHE PLANNING BEHIND THIS MISSIONSPONSORSHONDA TWO WHEELERS, INDIA considered my proposal and agreed to sponsor for my record attempt - very last minute on 30thHonda Two Wheelers, India partnering for the attempt.

    MY BIKE (MR. UNSTOPPABLE)
This machine (Honda CBR 250R) is part of me; I am for sure most of the bikers do feel the same about their bike. I see it as an extension of my personality; a superhuman extensionLimca and India Book of Records.

BIKE MODIFICATIONSBolt ChargerHOW DO I PRACTICE TO NEGATE RISKS ?
I always recall the famous dialogue , Riding a motorcycle is a power which needs to be handled with great responsibility. I express myself by doing extreme adventures rides but with safe riding techniques and minimizing the controllable risk in each ride. I see risk as two parts, one is something which is beyond our control, which we cannot do anything, but there is another part which are controllable risk and which is in "our control". I constantly keep working on the later and keep the controllable risk to "ZERO", which comes out of practice and training. I strongly believe in the same. As a responsible Motorcycle rider, I am very much aware that "time bound endurance ride" would require immense concentration, focus and discipline on the road, I always believe and act on few principles while riding:
    1. To be predictable, use signals and let the vehicle behind and ahead of you know about your movements. whenever I switch lane, irrespective of whether vehicles is behind me or not, I use Indicators and a close watch at the rear view mirror.
    2. Ride within your space - I always make sure I let the pedestrian cross the road and take them on the tail or wait/drop the speed so that they are not disturbed.
    3. I also strongly believe in ride and let ride and sharing the road with other vehicles.
    4. Read the Road - I would always watch out for signs and patterns in the road and anticipate each movement in the road.
    5. I see riding a motorcycle on the road as a privilege and not as a right.
WHY NORTH TO SOUTH EXPEDITION (LEH TO KANYAKUMARI) IS CONSIDERED AS THE TOUGHEST RIDE?. Further,REACHING LEH (OCT 1st - 5th)thst morning and reached Delhi by noon.

Bike Loaded into Pallet on 17th September (VRL Logistics) which costed around INR 6500 in total from Bangalore to Delhi

Sandeep, my friend who helped me to take the bike from VRL logistics, with a quick check at nearby Honda service center and with quick chat on early CTC days. I continued my ride towards Manali, Deepak who connected with me just before the trip and conveyed his wishes to meet up before Panipat. I realized that I missed to pack a nose plier in my tool kit, as soon as I landed in Delhi I requested Deepak whether he can get one for me, he was so kind, he bought one, I met him at 79th - decided to sleep at-least 8 hours each day before the ride so that I can compromise on the sleep during the return journey.

2nd OCTOBER(SUNDAY) - Started at 8 from the Swarghat, crossed the bad roads through Bilaspur, as usual the Chandigarh - Manali road is too busy during the day, thinking that SDM office will be off on Sunday and further it was National Holiday too. I reached Manali by 12:30, by then SDM office was closed for the day, but to my surprise they do work until 12 on Sundays which I came to know after reaching Manali. Nevertheless, I was in no hurry at all, took a room near to SDM office and rested for the day.
    OCTOBER 3rd (MONDAY)
I had a proper continuous sleep that night, woke up early by 6:30, quickly refreshed and had one aloo paratha for break-fast (this was my last solid food until 8thOCTOBER 4th (TUESDAY)thOCTOBER 5th (WEDNESDAY) -th 5:00 and slept again, decided to take complete rest and sleep as much as I can before the ride, I woke up just two times in the entire day and that too for 15 min each during which I had few Pear fruits and slept again, I knew all I want is sleep and rest, and I told to myself that I am not going to do anything other than this.

    OCTOBER 6th (THURSDAY) -

I slept for almost 32 hours from 4th October 21:30 to 6th October 5:00, that the longest I ever slept in my life too, I felt so refreshing, both my mind and body were in sync for the toughest ride of the life, took a quick shower and had few Pear fruits knowing that I need to survive with it for the day, wore 2 thermal layers and jacket and riding pant, further another rain layer to avoid the cold breeze and loaded saddle and tank bag to the Bike and said good bye to Lakshay and his friend, got all the formalities done in Leh police station and proceeded to get the electronic receipt from ATM.

    FIRST LEG- 24 HOURS FROM 6th OCTOBER 6:27 TO 7th OCTOBER 6:30 ( LEH TO MATHURA - 1166km)Starting from PNB ATM (LEH) @ 6;27 on 6th October, 2016

@ Jamb (near Hinganghat) on 7th Octoner, 2016, 20:40 (Odometer 44538)th October, due to Durga Pooja, there were few diversions in Hyderabad city, instead of rerouting in GPS I decided to ask for help with a bunch of boys in bikes (Mayur Dudhrejia and his friends), they did helped me to take few right diversions and connected Bangalore highway.

With Mayur Dudhrejia and his friends @ Hyderabad 3:00 on 8th October, 2016thth October, washed my face and thanking the fuel station guy for the help I sat on the saddle to cover the last leg of the journey. Congratulations Balaji. This is a big achievement and as you yourself said, it is not about speed, but about discipline on the road.

I am sure it takes a lot of stamina and riding skills to do what you have done and personally would never attempt something like this considering the general sense of our road users and also the speeds you are allowed to do legally.

    Ride Safe.

Congratulations !!! Balaji. I would appreciate if you could publish some more details of your last leg run, especially regarding your physical and mental condition, how you kept good control and such kind of observations, guidance etc. This would be much helpful for other people who may try to achieve such kind of adventures rides in the future.

Also, I feel that you did not made any elaborate arrangement of emergency help or road assistance particularly in south Indian leg. What I mean that you could have arranged a chain of XBhpians or other friends who could have taken charge of sector by sector track to make sundry arrangements, guidance, rescue with local acumen and knowledge. If all this was not so important (in your opinion) at least these teams could have arranged to take photographs and publicity matters for you.

Seriously, we are awaiting at least some photographs of your great achievement.

We were just discussing about this in whatsapp a few days back and here it is. Hearty congratulations on the accomplishment - that's some real b@lls of steel. I don't think I will ever attempt such an enduring ride. Nevertheless, I guess it's the sense of attainment that becomes addictive.

Yes Mukund, it requires lot of practice and patience. i believe on few principles

Distraction - Riding Solo requires lot of practice, one has to over come his own thoughts of distractions, keeping our thoughts on the road and enjoying every inch of the road, greeting the people we meet, smile at people on road, fuel station. everything adds to it. i completely avoid social media (FB, Whatsapp...)

Food - As i mentioned in the detail write up, i go on strict diet before the ride, reducing my appetite to 25%, i consume 1 fourth of of what i usually do, but healthy food. during the Ride i switch to Dry fruits and ORS, this is more than enough for a human,

Sleep - this comes out of practice, for last 6 years i have traveled across India, over the years i learned to over come sleep and stay on the road with 100% senses, i also go for extreme hiking across India, which also helped he with fitness and i basically survive with powers naps (short duration sleep on my journey). eating dry fruits and ORS also helps to avoid sleep, coz eating our daily routine food will add to excess dump to our body and also it will make us sleepy at time.

Riding gears & posture - wearing proper gear and seating posture adds to the comfort level, from wrist position to knee position, everything matters to stay on the bike for long hours, its a pain i agree but if you like the pain, no distance is long.

Finally i completely avoid additional stress while riding, meaning i ride within in limits, being disciplined in the road. i sense brain will drain out soon if there is additional stress, which will make us tired in no time. further i see our brain as a mobile and thoughts are mobile applications, the more the battery will drain quickly.

To make it simple enjoy the ride, with a smile and ride safe

Also, I feel that you did not made any elaborate arrangement of emergency help or road assistance particularly in south Indian leg. What I mean that you could have arranged a chain of XBhpians or other friends who could have taken charge of sector by sector track to make sundry arrangements, guidance, rescue with local acumen and knowledge. If all this was not so important (in your opinion) at least these teams could have arranged to take photographs and publicity matters for you.

Seriously, we are awaiting at least some photographs of your great achievement.
For Photographs please check out my blog - http://live-ride-explore.blogspot.com

Further i agree on connecting with more riders - I managed to ride with my contacts and also the live tracking link which helped he to connect to my FB friends.

looking forward to connect with XBhpians across India for my next Rides
