I was planning to do Rann of Kutch since last year, but couldnt do it. Even this year, i did not get suffiient leaves, but decided to do it anyhow.
I have not posted any trip log on xbhp since quite some time now, so pardon me, if something is not right.
So, i decided to do it as fast as possible, due to leaves problem.
I left for kutch on friday evening. Came home from office a bit early and took a one hour nap and then left for kutch from pune at around 7 PM. It is approximately 1100 kms from pune. I reached my resort in kutch by 6 PM on saturday. Took me approx. 23 hours. No night halt in between. Saturday evenung was spent chit chatting with resort owner and taking rest.
I had delibrately decided to go to kutch after Rann Utsav had ended, to avoid huge rush of tourists, so i can enjoy more.
Next day morning, i went to "Kala Dungar", its a mountain top, nothing much, just a mountain top. On the way, experienced Magnetic Hill.
The bike is automatically pulled up the incline, with engine off in neutral.
Then i went to "India Bridge" and met BSF Jawans, spent some time with them, unfortunately photgraphy was allowed, since its quite close to Pakistan Border. There i came to know that if take permission from "Bhuj", we can go quite deep and very near to actual border.
After this i came back to my resort for a brunch and then went to "Dholavira", which is around 300 kms one way from my resort. There are ruins of "Indus Valley Civilization" (Harappan Civilization) and a Museum, But the main idea of visiting the place was to get better view of white salt lake since dholavira is kind of an island. However, it was a flop idea as BSF didnt allowed to enter salt lake. The road to Dholavira was quite bad and broken, only last part was fantastic. I returned back to my resort by 9 PM.
Next day i visitrd Dhordo White Rann early morning, and enjoyed riding on white salt lake. Then i returned to my resort and left for pune.
Return journey took 24.5 hours for same 1100 kms. Since i had to reach pune and rejoin office ASAP, so no night halts in return journey too.
