I envy you Kurt...... But I appreciate the Stamina, Guts and your ride...each ride is a landmark in its own.
It is disheartening to see that we were so close to Kunzum but couldnot go for the roads were still blocked and that means that I will be doing this delhi-Kaza-Manali pretty soon....wanna join???

Kudos to you dude. Am left speechless.
I did the same route last year around this time and Kaza to manali is the best route I have ever ridden on. It just tests you and the machine to the hilt. And yes i agree with you on the rohtang thing.

In btw, which tubeless have you fitted on the bike?

Which tubeless are you running on??

Thanks you very much fellas for appreciating! I admire the gesture shown by fellow xBhpians to this thread, and thus from now on I'll be posting many such experiences every month or two, and thats a promise. I have many rides which have not been penned down, and also some which have not been posted here...

I'll start from the solo leh ride last year ....

@ All: expect to see(read- READ) travelogue to almost all the wonderful places in Himachal by Kurt. He has been to almost all the locations of Himachal and he can very well be The Tourist Guide (though unofficially, and he wont be paid for it) of xBhp. out of all the things that we are going to read in future by this gentleman, the most amazing part would be riding solo(most of the times) and in the dead of the night to places that we generally wont dare to go in broad day light. Also, his rides are most of the times Short as in time span, and the distance covered is a mamoth.

We are going to have a great time reading the stuff, C'Mon Kurt. lets hear it straight from your mouth.

              Jai ho Red Bull!!!!!

Thanks. And I suppose your alloys are doing fine despite several such runs in places where most alloys fear to venture!

I'm eagerly waiting for every log to come from Kurt. I agree with DCS on the kind of rides that he does & time he takes is a jolter to newbies like me.
What I admire most about him is his guts for he dares to cover it all in night when the hills are nothing less than scary.

One more time - Jai ho Red Bull Baba ki !!

@Kurt - Are you coming for the G2G in Karnal on 28th. It'd be nice meeting you.

@DCS - What is the plan for Sept?? Why not make one for coming weekend?? A short one....

Kaumik/Langza/Pin/Tashiganj/Gette next time ... You should always leave somthing that draws you back to the same place next time ...

Although I had enough time, but I spent on leisure in Kaza ...

Heyy vaibhav tht's one awesome feat and equally complimenting pics there.
                            some questions:
1)can the same route be done In july
2)we plan to ride from Mumbai ,would 8-9 days be enough considering comparatively we have softer butts
3)any route map you can help us with

                              1) Yes the same can be done in July...But it would be no use, as there would be no snow except for some at Kunzum

                              2) Well, even if you go relatively fast, put 4 days for delhi-mumbai and back. It would take you four days to get to kaza and come back to delhi (10-12 hours of riding daily).

Leaves you guys with just 1 day in Kaza! So Increase the trip by atleast 4 more days.

You could do this ex-delhi (if you want to properly visit spiti):

                              1) Delhi - Rampur
                              2) Rampur - Nako
                              3) Nako - Tabo
                              4) Tabo - Dhankar Gompa - Kaza
                              5) Kaza-Key-Kibber-Kaumik-Langza-Kaza
                              6) Kaza - pin valley - kaza
                              7) Kaza - Manali
                              8) Manali - Delhi

Two days back to Mumbai ...

                              In total 12 days ex-Mumbai
