Touring Wishlist for the year 2010

    The year will definately have many small trips here and there.. but I really wanne make a huge road trip from Mumbai to Leh Ladakh later this year in the month of August.. although looks a bit gloomy since I'm the sole biker until now.. although I have a pillion eager to come with me :P

    Anyone care to join me / us??

      ^^ there is a July trip being planned from mumbai....till now 3 riders...2 from mumbai...1 from delhi...and a tentative one from bangy....if intrested lemme know....

        Although Leh was expected but so many guys going to Spiti is a revelation. Not long before it will also be dream destination of every tourer like Leh.

        Ok here's plan.

        1) June 16th onwards - Himalayas for 17 to 20days. Place yet to be decided (Kharchapani -Rs22,000)
        2) August - 3 day trip to North West of Maharashtra (Kharchapani - Rs4,000)
        3) Nov 1-7th - Jaisalmer + some other destination in Rajasthan (Kharchapani - Rs10,000)
        4) Dec 29th onwards - 20 day trip of the whole east coast starting from Kolkata (Digha) and ending at Kanyakumari - (Kharchapani - Rs25,000)

        Total hit on my pocket - Rs60,000

        Of the 4 plans the last one is still tentative.

        Oh and btw here is my last years expenditure on touring.

        Money Spent on Tours - Rs40,000
        Karizma service + spares - Rs19,605

        This year it will be mostly P220 so I want to see the difference between service+spare cost of Karizma and P220 over a one year period.

          @MG: That first plan of yours sounds pretty interesting; exploring the Himalayas for 20 odd days would be REAL fun.

          Ah, but ofcourse, dcs! Let's just hit the road to Chandratal as soon as the way is open. According to OF sir, mid-June would be the best bet for reaching Chandratal.

              hi xbhpians,i m planning 4 leh this season anywhere between june 2 september coz till date i m alone rider for the ride.there r few of my friends (non xbhpians) says even they r eager 2 come but i think they r not serious & for them i dont want 2 spoil my trip. so anyone who is seriously planning 4 this trip plz rep me. i will join them 4 sure.

                P220?? When? How?
                10 Commandments:

                10)Thou shalt follow all of the above.

                  Well it won't be 20 days in Himalayas but somewhere around 17-17.5days in Himalayas.The rest of the time will be spent in reaching the hills.

                      Very nice initiative MG.wonderful thread.

                      Well,my wishlist has been struck at those 3 letters L E H.No more wish till I am done with a Manali-Leh-kargil-jammu route.
                      The only prob is that I am not sure if I'll get that much leave because I want to do this tour in a big way with ample time.

                      As a backup to Leh a short trip to Rajisthan in also in mind.

                      Rajisthan : No Idea when

                                This year I have two major trips in line:

                                1. Spiti and adjoining places in mid June - 10 days

                                2. Leh by July end, I wish to be in LEH on my b'day. Let's see how things roll!!

                                The shorter ones are always unplanned and instinctive.
