Exerpts from Day 3 trip:

Diamox helped me to catch some sleep in sarchu cool tents , morning i woke up and went to wash my face. little i know the water the tent care takers brought was ice cold!!! once i splashed the water in my face damn my hands went numb...later we begged for some hot water which these guys gave us in mug. man luxury has different meaning in this part of world.

Well we started off almost an hour and half later as ravi said, we were riding together and saw ben (guy who got hit by AMS badly) nice guy, we started climbing the next pass together. Both ravi and me were riding bit fast to catch up with our fellow riders, ben dropped off as he is already sick and not able to keep up with us. soon we entered mori plains , I just love this place it is completely serene and all dirt tracks!! soon we lost our track and no idea on how to proceed , then we met this guy with 500 cc bullet who seems to have a pretty good idea on the direction. we started following him, since we dont want to lose him and get lost we started to keep up with him, he was riding fast (i am pretty sure it is 90+ in dirt tracks!) this soon started a race between ravi and him. Both of them did pretty well .(damn what ever u push avenger just doesn't go beyond 90)Both ravi and me agreed to meet in next town for lunch and he was riding ahead of me. while descending from tanglang la i got struck in one of the landslide the guards were not allowing us to proceed further and i thought i lost ravi, later i learned he was behind me!. I started riding fast and not looking back , reached our meeting point.when i checked ravi didn't reach there ii was really mad at him. I was thinking he did n't stopped at this place.since the roads were so narrow and only one road there is a remote chance i cud have missed him thinking like this i moved ahead , damn tired but didn't stopped for lunch anywhere as i was cursing ravi through out . we (bu,ch,vi,ni) all missed the next security check post and didn't reported our names , this made ravi even more confused. when i finally caught up with other guys and saw ravi didn't reached i realized my mistake. cursing myself and though dead tired made up my mind to come back for ravi , borrowed some petrol from chanderjeet and started back. through out next 15 mins all worrying thoughts came haunting me when i finally met him i was like thank god he is alive and kicking . we both gave gali each other and realized our mistakes , joined our group and started off to ladakh.

it still puzzles me how i missed him in that narrow road , probably i was too focussed on the roads. remember we were just inches ahead from the cliff while over taking trucks and one mistake can cause your life. moral of the story always report in the security check post

I actually bugged the army fellow there asking him all kinds of details like did you see a guy riding a red bike wearing a red helmet... he said some morons didn't bother to stop !!
