I just finished reading all the pages on this thread. To say I am awed by the magnificent vistas would be a monument of an understatement - more so when when I have never had a chance yet to see that part of my country. I regret I did not make a trip to the Himalayas when I lived in Gurgaon. Now Bangalore is so far away, and riding a bike from here to the Himalaya certainly is a challenge! It is on my 'to-do' list, and with a certain measure of desperation, I might add!
I am grateful to Anshul, Imran and OF for showing us how beautiful Spiti is. A trip means much more when the memories are shared, and the beautiful photographs and text have left no stone unturned in doing that ~ Thank you!
Now the word 'Spiti' is pinned somewhere inside my head like a yellow 'Post it' note, and will only come off once I go and explore the beauty of the place on my motorcycle. Can't wait till next March!

Dhankar Monastery:

Approaching Kaza:
The views change completely as we approached Kaza. It was an amazing ride with snow blanketed mountains on both side accompanying us.

The one where we took the "U-turn"
On the way to Key Monastery...
At Kaza Petrol Station...
Just before Rangnik Bridge...
At the U-turn...
Continued...I'd rather be riding my motorcycle thinking about God than sitting in church thinking about my motorcycle.
Ride often, ride well, have fun.

Going through the trip log and going through the snaps made me feel as if i am there and watching it live. Old fox sir and Imran your photography is excellent, i can imagine what kind of fun and excitement you guys had riding to Spiti.
Adding to your log I had been till Srinagar with my splendor in june 2006 from Jammu (Katra) and i know the fun and the pleasure the road gives but i missed travelling in this much snow as much you had been. Planning to make the ride once more, if possible with the same bike.

Jammu - Srinagar is beautiful, doing it on a Splendor is commendable.I'd rather be riding my motorcycle thinking about God than sitting in church thinking about my motorcycle.
