  • Aryan: The snows are melting nice and quick this year. Your beloved Chandratal should be accessible for longer. Just that usually before the onset of winter, the authorities in Kaza get the road to Chandratal dug up across at a couple of places to stop people from venturing in and getting stuck. You'll need to wait for them to fill up the holes. But rest assured, Spiti is the 'new' destination for bikers this year and you'll probably end up with weekly updates about the conditions there.

Spidey: Bhaiya....aisi sansanikhez khabar mein mera interview NA dalwaa dena. Bhains ke kankaal pe bolna bada mushkil hoga . Nevertheless, had this been somewhere close-by, some god-forsaken news channel or the other would have been using your post's exact lexicon.

Ken: Add a 'd' to Godard and you'd end up discussing rocketry eh!

Need initiation and I am game for that too!
The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!

You are my 'mentor', not only in motorcycling, but for Chandratal too, sir! You just inform me ONCE that Chandratal is accessible, and I'll be gone in a flash! It has been a LONG dream now; you already know.

i mean, not only about the photographs, but more about the experience these three people must have had in this ride!

these few pictures really seem unbelievable to my eyes unless i go there and see all that myself!

Why not! No one speaks or writes better than you, you'll make a very good reporter for INDIA Tv, I bet on that
Anyways good that its resting far away from these idiot news channels or they would have definitely tried to interview it, "Aaiye puchte hai swayam uss kankal se..."

BTW awesome pics, now am tired of praising the beauty of Himalayas (still, it keeps me surprising) & your team's photograhy skills...

Ah! The 'Super-Traveller' walks in. Thanks a lot for those good words Praveen. Time you rode into Spiti. Plan for next March and you'll have an old man for company...on his two-wheels of course .

Can be done Tushar. You'll need at least 3 clear days to do this on the run. Not much time to take pictures or savour the region though.

Thanks Ajay. Glad you liked the pics. Yes, we should see a minor exodus towards Spiti going by the plans in the offing.

                      • Later in the day as we proceeded further and the chill became more realistic with snow coming closer to the roads. With frozen water streams and river beds the landscape changed from to patchy white to totally white and completely frozen.

I'd rather be riding my motorcycle thinking about God than sitting in church thinking about my motorcycle.
Ride often, ride well, have fun.

I want to take a dip at that water and get frozen. No really

@Imran - Thanks for sharing the pictures man. But next time try to upload pictures from picasa or something because with sites like imageshack there is always a chance that after a few months you might not be able to see the pictures as images gets deleted automatically.
