Day -3
In the morning at 7:45 am we started for Baralacha. On the way we stopped at Deepaktal for pics. After this the real magic started. The temperature was well below 0 . The water on road was freeze in water color show (Black ice). It was very difficult to identify. And on the first water color snow Umair misjudged it as water and applied breaks and that happened which should not happen. His bike slipped and I was just 20 feet behind him. I also got the same treatment by the water color snow. I lifted my legs from foot rest and soon was lying on my luggage tied on fallen bike. It was a scene to be captured in camera. But nobody was there to do so. I was okay with my bike but Umair got scratch wound on his leg and foot rest of gear side was broken in this incident. Soon we got up and dressed Umair and started further. It was time to pay for heavy breakfast in hills as I took 2 pranthas with butter. I suffered with lack of oxygen. With every if and but I managed to reach on the top of Baralacha and after taking 2-3 snaps immediately started to descend with out waiting for Umair and Suresh in order to make me feel good at a low altitude stop. I stopped after 15-16 kms after Baralacha. After 30 minutes Suresh joined me at the same place. He also had a great fall on snow. Foot rest and gear lever were broken in that fall. After 20 minutes Umair joined us. This bike was slipped (Did not fall) and he was not able to bring it on the track. Few guys from Haryana helped him. I am still regretting my mistake for not being with Umair at this moment. Any how we started again to reach Sarchu. When I and Umair reached Sarchu Suresh was waiting for us. Me and Umair were moving a little bit slow after that fall but Suresh continued on same speed or even more speed than of earlier in order to reach Leh on the same day by taking any amount of risk. After sarchu we crossed Gutta loops. Afetr that Naleela and Lachungla. After taking a few shots on these passes I reached Pang at 5:00 pm. Umair had already made it at 4:30 pm because my bike started to creat problem after Gutta loops or exactly just before Nakeela. Suresh had already left for Leh before Umair reached Pang. Umair waited for me at Pang as he was awared that my bike was not going well. I washed air filter of bike. We decided to stay at Pang in tent. It was very chilled evening. Both me and Umair were suffering from AMS. We did not take dinner. I took half Maggie in night and Umair took same at 5:00 pm. We went to bed early.
