STILL IN LEH .. it's been around 8 days now.. covered almost all the places, gonna start for Manali tomorrow @ 5.. having a LEH'D back ride literally..

Back? I'm in Pune, sitting comfortably in my office.
The reason I didn't waste any time in Leh was that, the places I wanted to visit, either the road was closed or would need me to spend extra time taking the longer route.

PS: I'm not going there in Aug but the plan is for Sep. Coming along?

It was nice spending an evening with Pune guys @ Drass. Next day morning crossed the Mumbai ppl in Ziji la.

Honestly, this shows utter lack of preparation and casual attitude towards riding. Hunder is hardly 130 km from Leh. Riding anywhere in hills without your tank full (especially when you know that fuel availability in Diskit is suspect) is not considered a sane decision.

Also want to clarify that at no point, the temperature was -10 or -12. It was snowing very hard but the temprature was around 2 degrees. (I checked thermometer at Khardungla)

Please tell me if local tavera owners and fully loaded trucks can cross khardungla, is it impossible for a bike to do so? As you would know, these trucks and tankers are sole lifeline for nubra valley residents and army posted there. So the roads are always passable (of course when open). YES they are difficult but NOT IMPOSSIBLE.

Is it possible that Biru, shadow, hydbiker etc. loaded their bikes on a tempo, took them to K Top and then shot some photos? If they rode their bikes, are they GODS?

He is already heading towards bed set up in his office. We reached back at 3 am today.

The reason paaji didn't go to nubra because he did not want to climb khardungla twice (i.e. once while returning) so he chose to stay in Leh itself.

What do you mean that you shoved sense up his head on getting tube? He didn't bring it with him. He got it in Leh.

Please check inner portion of your rain gear for some brown organic material. May be that is why he wants to wash it before returning

Vishwas: I know, and hence the point.... He actually fibbed me and hydro that he was taking tubes and all. Infact he went on to say that he is carrying two tubes each to Hydro!

I spoke to Alankar last evening... what happened was a comedy of errors, they met two more guys from Mumbai who were on smaller bikes, and one of them got a puncture.... in trying to help them, they went ahead to try and get a tube for HH Passion. One camp after the other and they couldnt find any help. Then came a snow storm which made it very difficult to go ahead, hence they had to stay back. They tried venturing out, but that only lead to BRO sending a scout team to search for them. Luckilly all met in time.
They had got enough fuel on motors bike and hence were sure that in worst case they will leech from him. But motor also had a puncture and a spill which lead to a lot of fuel loss. So all in all, the weather did them good.

No bed in office.. feeling very sleepy now..

That was basically due to the harsh weather conditions we faced at Chang La and Khardung La..



But, that idea helped me...otherwise i would have thought of getting the rim-bend corrected there only..which could have taken up a lot of time..

Nothing of that sorts...dont OVER-EXAGGERATE things around..
