congrats but with caution. riding the bandit with track tyres on mountains with snow , twist and turns well, needs extreme care to say the least.

I am sitting besides a nice mountain road in Italy with Anurag wishing I was there with you to be a part of the wonderful accomplishment! I cannot define in words how happy and proud I am to have wonderful motorcyclists like you to be a part of our family on xBhp! And yes this is just the start! I will write more when Ill get a little faster connection (on mobile right now).

A Big Thank You to you all brothers on two-wheels out there. The deluge of congratulatory messages is overwhelming to say the least. And makes all the effort so much more worth its while.
The pictures and logs will follow as soon as we get back to Delhi. I-net connectivity in Leh is a pain these days as the administration has blocked the service in view of the violent conditions prevailing in Srinagar area. Which is one reason why I couldn't get on-line earlier and put in my replies. We shall be starting for Delhi early tomorrow and should be back in Delhi by sunday if all goes well. Bear with us till then.
Thanks Haroon and great to know about another Indian having done this before. It had to be a Sandeep eh!
. And so, apparently we are not the first as such to take a 1000cc + bike to K-Top. The claim will be suitably amended for it.
There is a difference in this ride though. The R1200GS is a bike meant for such terrain. The Manali route in fact is its home-ground so to say. The Bandit though is a tarmac king and we took it up and through on stock tyres. And most importantly, this is undoubtedly a historic achievement for xBhp.
But then seen in a wider perspective, a ride remains a ride and it sure was fun taking those hundred horses through the paces in places that probably weren't a part of the design brief to the Suzuki Bandit development team.
This was my 4th ride to Leh on two wheels but it sure is one I'll remember the most in the years to come. The Bandit is an amazing steed, super reliable in the worst of conditions but like any powerful bike shod with tarmac rubber, doesn't like slippery slush. The rear fights for non-existent grip. At places the bike was axle deep in slush and the rear tyre would spin away to glory at the first hint of the throttle. Add rain and snow to the equation and the proceedings could well be sold as a high-altitude wrestling bout.
There's so much to share and tell about. But then the limitations of facilities and distance win over desire. We need to get back not just for this but also to our families. All in good time though. We will be out-of-coverage-area for the next two days now. Manali might give me the opportunity to catch up with you all. But then home and hearth is not that far away now. So catch you early next week. Bye for now

Just the other day I was chatting with a fellow biker on how a Ninja 250R would fare in Leh. We were like, it's too risky as one fall would mean a huge repair bill. And here you guys go and make our wildest imaginations come true with this big brother of Touring bikes.
AWESOME!!!
