i really want to ride a bullet once just to feel it and know why ppl fall in love with it.
Yammie 350 was the first ever 100cc + bike i rode. i hardly rode it for 2kms in the galli's of secunderabad. It was a badly maintained one. Just opened the throttle in 1st gear and voilla.....a power wheelie.......i almost shitted in my pants...

desideep - well said. I think people have lot of misconceptions etched on to their mind from bull haters and those who cant tame the beast(ahemm..).
and someone asked whether it is possible for one kick start of bull in morning - my dear - my Electra can start without choke or whatever you are saying.
sure ,what I do is on first start - press decompressor lever and give 4-5 kicks for oil spread.then the first or second or third kick my bull will spring into life(Except Once after given for water service
).first concern is good quality fuel ,which luckily I can get here.
well dear - a 5ft man can ride the bull fine.Originally posted by ravi@17bhpTo ride a bull, you need special character and stamina and special love towards it;
@inder: classic looking RE bullets are not gonna stop anytime soon.people in west admire them and imports from India is on the rise only AFAIK
.I am sure RE is not gonna cease production in the hands of Eicher's Siddhartha Lal who is a Bullet Aficionado

But, I have seen many bulleteers trying hard in the morning to start it. I see variation here.
In fact, anybody can ride a bullet, but if you do not have much stamina you will be at discomfort.

.Regarding starting the bullet when you know the trick the thing roars in the firt kick. people compalin about the bullets kicking back and giving sore legs... that would not happen provided you know how to start one. but that comes with time...Originally posted by ravi@17bhp View PostI was not talking about the hight of the rider. discomfort for some initial days it is hard to get used to it if you have been riding the other street bikes... after that go from delhi to leh when you get off the bullet youwill feel physically fresh|NO WHEELS|

Why to get used to a discomfort when other bikes provide same features with ease or riding. A regular two wheeler is much more comfortable to ride in a traffic than a Bullet.Originally posted by desideep View Postdiscomfort for some initial days it is hard to get used to it if you have been riding the other street bikes... after that go from delhi to leh when you get off the bullet youwill feel physically fresh
I am again summing it up. Bulls are for those who love it. Bullet was never my choice. I am not giving the reasons like it is heavy, does not start, or kicks back, or anything else. I am much more comfortable with a karizma than a bull.
We are not just talking about stability at high speeds. We are, in general, talking about the tourer capabilities of the bikes. I agree bullet is a good tourer. And, bullet is not the choice of many, including me too, and is for the reasons best known to those.
I asked my colleague why you were bent on a Bullet for city riding (he does mostly city riding) than any other bike. He said "I liked bullet". He knew a Zma or other bike is good for a comfort city riding.
Hope I told exactly what I want to. Period.

Sorry i think that this all is going off topic now cause Akshay has already decied his bike so lets stop discussing this cause we can go on and on on this wasting the time that we can spend to paln another trip or the time that i can utilise to hit on the girl in the next bay.Originally posted by ravi@17bhp View PostWhy to get used to a discomfort when other bikes provide same features with ease or riding.
its like you asking me to ride one of the ZMA or PULSSIE i would be uncomfertable cause i am not used to it.
A regular two wheeler is much more comfortable to ride in a traffic than a Bullet.
I certainly would not agree not cause ride i one. cause i have the other ones aswell (My so called modren bike is CBZ EXTREAM ) and i have been there
I am again summing it up. Bulls are for those who love it.
No one is born with the love has to realize it one day some do by first look some do by being with it. i am sure that you have not read my other thread it is on the same... though i am still working to finish it.

Thats your personal choice and that i certainly do respect as i said earlier one can take a LUNA or what ever out on the road it they think that it can keep them comfy all day long yes thats the tourer for them. oh let me mention about my few hundred km rides on a Hero Puch Shakti 3G and i use to think that is the best thing on the road.

Yes you are rite even though bullet is a good tourer still many would not like to go for it i have one such person in the family my lil brother. thats just cause it takes some gutts to ride with it and then as said prior to this one needs to know about the bullets before you set off a extra bag has to be packed for the bullet before you set off . rather than FILL IT SHUT IT AND RIDE IT..
I asked my colleague why you were bent on a Bullet for city riding (he does mostly city riding) than any other bike. He said "I liked bullet". He knew a Zma or other bike is good for a comfort city riding.
Again persona preference jumps. in boys from Punjab would ride the bullet not because of the comfort or what every they dont know nothing about the bullets. the only thing that they ride it for is THUMP.. what just the THUMP are you out of your mind thats what a person may think. but again thats the personal thing. again same thig applies here.
Hope I told exactly what I want to. Period.
Yes Ravi you did the best thing is that we do under stand that though ZMA is the best tourer i should say a safe tourer specially for the NOVICE. but when you fall for a bullets its hard to get out of the trap of a bullet may be you fall in the love for the bullet or you are the house fly which is stuck in the web of the spider say Bullet.....|NO WHEELS|

Chill dude! I have never said anything negative about the bullet. But, thanks so much for explaining everything. U said the same as me in other way, it is all about personal choice. If u read my posts carefully, you will find the same.
U need not further explain about a Bullet to me. Do not think that I am ignorant of bullets. Once you do a long tour on a Zma, you will also appreciate it then.

Hey guys!
I think I am late in posting here, but then not to point at anyone, for whoever mentioned, about Bullet being a maintenance intensive bike, I would just say that it's an image (a false image) with you. Like somebody very rightly pointed out, it's about how well you take care of your bike & it definitely doesn't mean taking your bike every two weeks to the mechanic. This maybe true for any bike, Bullet or ZMA, provided it's your bad luck or that you really don't know how to ride & take care of the bike.
About one kick starts, man, let go off of some old world definitions of what a good bike is. Maybe a bike starts in one kick, but then maybe it's poor on compression, is smoking, then what. You can't call it a good bike. In fact, back home, I used to have this milkman who had a Bajaj CT100, & I surely saw him starting the bike in one kick (maybe half-kick, as people sometimes like to say), but then I surely know that his was not the best bike out there.
As for parts, please check the facts first & then talk of what's available & what's not, & what a thing costs.
So, please try & not post some thing that you don't know about or you personally feel negatively about. And then maybe what you consider the best, has at least the equivalent negatives, if not more because nothing is perfect.
Take care.
Happy thumping,
Prakhar

Would like to update members here on our recent ride to Jaipur on a R15 from Delhi. It had a set of Cramsters on it and a load of around 90kg as the rider including back pack.Originally posted by BOOO View Postwell, imo r-15 is the best touring machine. the combination of better acceleration, better breaking and better suspension allows it to pull away from 200 or zma by few kilometers within a matter of 20mins.
And all this not on GQ but on a pot hole infested state highway.
another good bike is 220.
The detailed review will come in later, but for now: If you want to tour any bike will go but forget acceleration, overtaking with ease and prepare to give your wrist a heavy beating, not only because of the riding position but also because of the fact that you have to rev-its-everything off to keep it in the 'power'band, if at all you call it that.
But then of course we have also taken a Kinetic Blaze scooter around India
Unfortunately this was my experience.

Well said...in fact on many of my rides on different bikes and different riders, they all seem to have preferences across spectrum...but one thing that unites all riders is the need to have a machine that will hit the ton and stay at it for all the ridin time. Not to mention that there needs to be some reserve power at that speed to pull overtaking maneuvers.Originally posted by Sunny View PostWould like to update members here on our recent ride to Jaipur on a R15 from Delhi. On my recent rides, I found the ZMA, 220 and the Bull to be the easiest at that...this of course is my personal observation and others may have their own.
The low revin mill of the ZMA imparts that relaxed feel...the 220 has immense torque spread and feels powerful and relaxed at that speed too...the bull feels like an out of phase mixer at idle but is quite soft when one reaches a ton (dont know much about the bull tho').Never argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and then beat you with experience.
