  • Help in planning All India Ride.

    Hi everyone,

Along with couple of friends from xbhp, I'm planning on doing an All India ride during the year 2013.

    Route:

The above snap shot shows the route we are planning on taking. I request the xbhp fraternity to help us with suggestions on routes, places that are must-visit along the route etc, tips and advice from your own rides, places to stay etc. We are doing our own homework, but all and any advice are welcome.

    Looking forward to your help.

    Thanks,
    Lijo K

Yeah, if it's a 2 weeks thing I can also join.... I know the reasons behind making it a 1 month pgm... my leaves are kept pending...

        Good luck with the trip!

          Two week guys

If you can get 2 weeks off, I suggest you ship your ride to Delhi, join us from there for the rest of the ride...

Trust me few things don't work out that way Lijo; the logistics of transporting the motorcycles is still a nightmare, atleast in this country. We don't want to delay your trip unnecessarily. Its all black or white, no grey area; do the trip from beginning to end or don't do it !!!

Transporting motorcycle by train is quite safe, though involves bit risk and your BP may increase. I would definitely do it again. Just one thing, travel in the same train with bike, and take it as luggage. It is bit costly, but you know the bike is with you, and you can ride with it the moment you leave station.

Your one source of information - http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/universa...al-thread.html

PS - But why June? Why not July/Aug when you know for sure the passes are opened?

So its finally up and happy n sad at the same time. happy that the friends from tvm are heading for leh and sad that MY FRIENDS from tvm are doing this and i cant join !! Will have to plan one after 3 years, hope i ll be settled down somewhere properly then, with a ninja.
At the end of this trip, am sure there will be a bunch of bikers ready to accompany you guys from different parts of the country to guide you guys, thanks to xbhp. I ve been seeing overwhelming response in fb page, and am expecting more here.
If you are not keen to explore all the places en route your journey to leh other than Himalayas, it would be a better option to transport the bike any one way, to say , return , as all of you would be dead tired by then. As suggested by animeher, travel in the same train to avoid headache. You should keep aside atleast some two weeks for sightseeing at different levels of himalayas as i went there for a 5 day trip and that was not at all sufficient to explore even places around srinagar.
Its time for all who got leh'd to pour in their views, especially pune guys some of whom rode to n fro.

Great ! Its up ! So hopefully we can find few more mates to tag along .

But there seems to be a time frame problem, some are recommending more time for this journey. Even if you think about it, with the 2 weeks plan, 7-10days are gone in journey itself. You need atleast a week or two more in order to stop at the said destinations. Otherwise it would be a no-fun, really hectic journey altogether.

@Lijo, Spent 3 days in Goa to noted down where all to explore :P

If you cannot ship the bike, you could join us in till Goa or Mumbai through the scenic route and then unravel the bikes performance on the expressways coming back home. (I'm sure it'll get enough air to cool at those speeds )
                              Peace \m/
