If you ride the bike without no luggage and giving frequent breaks in the middle, I think it should be fine, . . I know few people who traveled from Bangalore to Mysore which is around 150-160kms in their scooters and the scooter is in good condition but seriously don't know about the ghats which you have mentioned above but other than that I think it's fine as long as you maintain the things as you have mentioned above. . . Ask other experts living there and they might help you out. . .

If the steep is too inclined then I doubt if the scooter will pull.

@ Omkar: Is there any major problem with the vehicle? I'm forced to ask you this cause you shouldn't have had this doubt in the first place. If yes, kindly elaborate or else following is my reply:

I have done many trips on the good old Kinetic Honda that too with a pillion from Coimbatore to Ooty which is around 85kms in which 50 kms is ghat. Some parts are more steep than the lonavala ghat. I'm not trying to compare a 4st new age honda engine and a 2st rock solid engine here but to point out the fact there it is absolutely no problem with taking it to pune.

The only problem I see here is Boredom, if you don't have a problem with that then just get going buddy! Don't think twice

Precautions:
1. Regular checks like air, brakes etc.
2. Proper gears

Have done Mumbai Poona many times when I was in university on my Dad's old Honda Eterno (though that was a geared 150cc scooter).

As far as the Khopoli Ghats are concerned, the pleasure will do them without a problem. Just stop once in Khopoli and let engine cool a bit before starting. Again stop in Lonavala and get some chikki or something at A-1 and let the engine cool a bit before proceeding.

Make sure that the vehicle is in good condition, maintain a speed of maximum 60 on the straights. Try and maintain momentum while climbing and keep the engine in mid range, do not unnecessarily rev the engine sky high, just try and keep it in its power band. Accept that progress will be slow and its going to take about 3-4 hours to reach Pune depending on where you start in Mumbai and how many breaks you take.

yes it will go no problem at all even it can go for thousands kms just remember not to give more load than specified by the company you can find it in owners manual
Ride not more than 80% of top speed.

Hi shelton_jh, There is no major problem or even any minor problem with the bike. The bike is in mint condition inspite of 2 yrs old with very well maintained and oil changed at regular intervals.. I was only concerned whether the 8bhp engine will be able to pull off the steep slope, but I guess it should be able to.
I had anyways made up my mind to take the bike, obviously with the exitement of this short ride with wife

, so no questions about the boredom

[MENTION=63284]Omkar Nagpal[/MENTION] We had a scooter gang which had a few HH pleasures. Lonavla & Pune were frequent rides & Pleasure use to perform with pleasure. Just to boost your confidence "It can even do Mahabaleshwar with pleasure". Maintain speeds below 60kmph.

if the vehicle is in good condition, there should not be any problem. i have done Nagpur- Delhi on a Kinetic Honda way back around 2001, and that too with a big bag tied to rear seat and a suitcase on the front leg space. crazy it may sound.

technically there is nothing that should stop HH Pleasure from doing mumbai-pune.

just one suggestion, take a stop before starting the ghats and one after the ghats are finished.

one more, never strain the engine, feel the most optimum speed for your vehicle, and njoy..

Thanks everyone for the replies.. The bike made it to Pune on 04th Aug without a sweat on the brow

The ghats never became a hurdule for the pleasure and it was an awesome journey..
Honestly, I didnt expect this 100 cc bike to perform so good.. The ride was constantly at about 55-60 and it was a smooth ride all the while...
The only moments when there was a frustration on my face was when the roads were not good.. The ride gets too bouncy during bad roads, potholes or even small hurdules...
rest everything was a charm!
