Yes I've read his review too. This is why I am more instead to get this tire. Don't want to regret later on. So taking my time to get a perfect tire for myself.

No doubt that CBR is an awesome sports tourer & can handle all types of terrains, however the fairings might loosen up if off reading is done frequently & then it starts to make unnecessary sounds which gets irritating...I did Ladakh last yr on my CBR with pillion & fully loaded saddle bags & Jerry cans filled with petrol & I didn't find it very difficult. Just make sure that u use a cling film wrap in front of radiator so that the slush, dust, & pebbles don't get jammed in the radiator else the bike'll heat up quickly.

      DOTHRAS CHECK ...!!!
Hi bro, is there a good ventilation for radiator if we use cling film wrap?

Don't put it directly on the radiator. Put it on the fairing walls behind the forks.

Whats the average life of a Contigo tyre which used to comes default with 2012/2013 CBR models. My bike is 20K and almost 4 years old now. Front tyre loosing its pressure in a week or two. No punctures ever spotted on the tyres till date. Will check the tyres next weekend, till then any suggestions?

The Contigo tyres are good for 15-20K KM's but the rubber starts to crack after 2-3 yrs. Hence I'd suggest that you change ASAP as the monsoon is close & u need good traction during monsoon.
And I'd suggest that u go for MRF Zapper S. This was the stock tyre on my CBR 250R & was good till 25K. This is what I deduced from your Odo of 20K in 4 yrs that u rarely take long rides. I did Ladakh on MRF & not even a single puncture. My rear had 2 punctures & that too within the 1st wk of my bike. Front has no puncture till date. I have clocked 28000 in the past 1 yr & 2 months & my front is still good for another 2-3K kms.

Well actually out of this 4 years bike was not in use for a year. Now I feel though the tyres are old they have life left on it. Will share pics so that you can get a better idea. And yeah I go for long rides once in a 6months or so, but definitely not like Ladakh :P.

Re: Rear tyre for CBR 250R

I have been reading a lot of bad reviews about the ContiGo stock rear for the CBR for the past few years. However there is very little information on the contiGO front wheel.

I have a Duke and I have planned to take it over the harsh Himalayan terrain. So when I was looking for a durable semi-hard compound tyre the dealer suggested me contiGo 110/70. So could some one shed some light on the performance aspect of contiGO front tyres?
                The ride defines it..!!!

Preety much. I am still on my contigos and I know what I am facing. Congitos as really well only in the straight, dry and clean road. Apart from that wet roads, a little bit of derbies also will make you have less confidence. And trip to leh, never did one but its sure to be a tough ride with these tires...
                      Cheers.✌

Get Michelin pilot street radials, they do well on all terrain n conditions and last a while.

Thank you for the insight. Fortunately I went with the MRFs and got Leh'd this year.

They are in very good condition, still have very good tread, please check after you complete 5k kms..and in case of burnout it may go fast..

If you are not happy with the current tyres then go for Michelin pilot street, they are the best and can easily last long from 25k to 30k kms with tremendous wet & dry grip on road..
