guys, my rear IRC 110/70-17 is worn out. need a replacement and decided for a 120/70 or 120/80 on same 17" rims.
narrowed down to zapper vyde and sirac. so which one do i choose?
vyde is available here @JC for 1900/- all inc. how do i get hold of sirac if i opt for it?
The advantage of Sirac is it would go on any terrain. The grip is awsome. Zapper vyde scores marginally better in flickability. Sirac is excellent for all terrains. Choose what you want.
@pranay: thanks. will do.
@ravi: heard sirac is bit heavier too. true? compared to vyde ie.
in flickability vs terrain, i would prefer the former.
The most imp point for SIRAC - Confidence.
The amount of confidence u gain cause of its grip is amazing.
I believe flickability of a bike depends on its design..suspension ... tyres...(many more) and also the riders ability , if the rider is confident about the tyres grip then he can ride in any corners with ease.
Aprilia RS 125 or Honda CB400 Vtec ..... which one will it be ??? I think its gonna be NINJA ZX 6R :-)

You can flick with Sirac too and it is fun to ride on, but vyde slightly scores over Sirac in flickability (remember the vyde is a round profile tyre). But, you will not get the grip that you feel with Sirac.
^^^ strangely the Siracs have more rounder profile than stock mrf on 220.Anyways in case of my bike at top gear my bike does around 3-4kms more at 6K rpm .... so am ver happy

Thought Sirac is round, the contact patch is more compared to vyde. There it makes the difference. But, I am using Sirac since yesterday in my Zma. My confidence now has increased multifold.
I know how the Sirac looks for a P220. We tease it by saying a tractor tyre.

Sirac is amazing-I felt more confident cornering on RaviKiran's P220 with Sirac than on my stock R15!

You know the curve after the Raheja IT park, that leads to Gachibowli, I daily ride on this road to my office. I used to carry speeds of 80 while taking this curve with my previous tyre and now yesterday and today, I have taken this curve around 95-100 kmph speeds. Still there is lots of grip with Sirac, but my front zapper was not allowing me to push further.
Though this curve is not a great one, it is very dangerous in sense that it is not properly banked. If it had, you could easily carry speeds well above 100.

I used to love that road. I used to go there occasionally when I was working at my old company at iLabs (you have to take a left from Raheja IT Park Circle&head towards Durgam Cheruvu). Once Vibhanshu&I did 124&128 respectively after exchanging bikes at about 11:30 at night!
P.S. I was wearing my knee&elbow protectors.
Yesterday I replaced my Zma's rear Dunlop Monster with Michelin Sirac 120 x 80. Feeling awsome grip.
I think you are the right person to answer me..
What is your opinion on Dunlop Monster..?
How is the grip in dry and wet conditions??
Whether Sirac is available in 100/90 size too.??
Too bad your choice is limited. However, think twice before going in for dual purpose tyres. Ride quality on good roads may suffer. Speaking from recent experience...
If its tubeless it has to be embossed on the sidewall. Don't believe dealers... they are mostly intrested only in selling whatever they have. Its your life and money that will be at stake.
If buying tubed, make sure you use tube of exact same size (I was duped in this respect), and its in genuine sealed pack.
Thank You for the response, i will check out for the embossed mark on sidewall..

If you want a 100/90 tyre, go for M45 4 x 18. It is a proven all round tyre.
BTW, what bike do you have? Though Monster is good, M45 is lot better for lots of grip, even in wet.

Bro, i have a Unicorn 2ng generation in which stock tyres were 3.00-18
4.00-18 is so close that it touches swing arm so max i can put is 3.50-18 from M45 but availability of Michelin is a big headache..

So i thought to go with Monster.
If you want a good tyre, then you should somehow get M45. Monster is good compared to MRF, but the tyre is a bit heavy compared to other tyres of the same size.
