    • Guys, what will be the side effects of fitting 17" RIM(rear) on a bike with 18" RIM(RTR160)?
Will the acceleration be increased or decreased? i.e, will it be undergeared or overgeared? Any other side effects?
Also, is Pirelli SD 110/80-18 available in Bangalore?

              MRF REVZ 150/60-17
They have got tons of grip.
You can get them for 3k and they really do the job. Have tried them on not so good roads to curve and experienced how they stick to the road

              • I'm looking to replace the front tyre on my TVS Star. It has stock TVS front tyre (now 50k kms) and needs a replacement since the tread appears quite worn.

The current size is: 2.75 x 18, 4 Ply rating (with tube).

I am thinking of either MRF Zapper FM/FS or Michelin Sirac Street.
Any ideas on what would be an appropriate tyre, also what is a good place to buy tyres in Hyderabad?
Any other suggestions would also be welcome, I just a need a reasonably grippy tyre with good grip on loose gravel and wet surfaces.

                • Hi,
I am a new member to this site and I found a good quality material for motorcycle here.
I have a query regarding tyres for my RE Classic 500.
The original tyres are 7K KM old, thread are fine however it has a horrible grip specially in wet conditions, hence I am planning to change both the tyres.
I have seen older bull (and newer as well) with ribbed pattern for the front tyres however classic only comes with ZAPPERS.
What is the difference between RIBBED pattern and ZAPPER? which one is better?

                  Please help

                  Regards
                  Mandar

                  • Guys,

After reading advice here I called up a Michelin dealer here in Pune and asked if he stocks M45. He said yes and I got my punctured tyre filled up and rode over to the dealer
Only after reaching there he said M45 is not available in India and would recommend Sirac street or CEAT. I saw his ZMA parked there and asked what he's using. He said he was using Sirac street for the front tyre for the last 3 years.
His words : "Sirac street will have less grip in the first 3 months. Be careful and you'll have awesome grip after that". I finally had little choice, did some searching on the net and decided to go for Sirac street for my ZMA's rear tyre. The front one is still good, so decided to hold off for now.

I've got to admit that the grip has improved over the older stock MRF tyre. Better grip meant more confidence. I'll give thumbs up to this one. Plus it's a direct fit.

                      • Problem with Tyres

Hey guys can you please suggest me some good and gripy tyres for avenger. I was told that only MRF manufacture tyres for avengers, but its grip is weak. On the wet surface or some times even on dry concrete road its a panic feel to apply brakes. Even while leaning this grips tends to scid very soon. If there is any other alternative than MRF's please let me know.

                            • What are the tyre options in the market these days for a 17" front tyre?

Apart from Pirelli Sport Demon and any other MRF tyre.
