    There in lies the flaw

Every tyre is designed for a specific rim width. Two tyres both 90/90-17 can form a very different side profile/diameter if its meant to fit a different sized rim. I'll give you an example, when I was using my bike's stock Zapper FS front tyre, the speedo reading was 88 Kmph @ 6K RPM in top gear. Then I changed my front tyre to a 90/90-17 IRC Wildflare and my speedo then showed 86 Kmph @ 6K RPM. The IRC was meant to be used on a bike with a wider rim, on my thinner rim it formed a taller aspect ratio and thus the under reading speedo.

Since V2's rim is wider, when the same 90/80 tyre is put the 220's thinner rim the tyre will get "pinched" by the alloy, and thus it forms a slightly taller side profile. But how much more from 72mm no calculation that I know of will tell you that.

Yes, it won't the stock requirement of 90/90 = 81mm, but it will be somewhere between 72mm and 81mm.

Thanks now my decision to choose got even tougher LOL

Good you were saved, the PSD is just no good on the 220. I mean it was awesome for the first 2-3K kms but after that it was worse than stock.

FY1 is for 1.8K here in BLR, and PS is for 1.7K

I saw the 100/80 version Pilot Sporty at a Michelin dealer close to my house, waiting for him to get the stock of the 90/90 version.

IRC Wildflare 'was' an amazing tyre, sadly its not available anywhere now.

        • @All those who helped me while I was getting Pirelli !
Just want to know your view.

I'm going my home (Delhi) on Holi.

So as in order to get rid of Pirelli I'm thinking to set them in my Fazer or Fz (In Delhi) & get the Dunlop 140 Rear from them and a new Front Tyre from Dunlop ?

          Hows this seems ?
Am I again going to make a mistake like Pirelli ?

Whats the Front tyre size available from Dunlop for Pulsar 220 ?
Any idea of price figure ?
First I was Scared But then We Made a Deal

Doing all this planning just coz I paid 7k a month back for these and now I feel very uncomfortable. A bit from Tyres & very much coz of Mumbai roads.
So now again digging money from my pocket is not possible.
Already have to buy some lenses for SLR !

Thanks for the clarification Praful. I thought all 90/90 size tyres will fit the same.

What are the exact front rim sizes of r15 and p220?? rtr180 has 1.85 inch rim.
Since the error with fy1 will be lesser than I thought, I too might go for it. Btw is it available in only specific MRF outlets in Blore??

                      No idea about the rim-widths.

FY1 out of stock in BLR, couple of friends were tyre hunting at JC road today. But got quotes of 1.6-1.8K for it. I am mostly going for the Michelin Pilot Sporty I am sure I can't be as bad as the PSD or Zapper FX.
