  • I recently saw a new P180 shod with Bridgestone tyres, looked like OE. The front was Zapper-FS-like, can't remember details of the rear.

The guy was in a hurry and wasn't in the mood to answer questions, so the OE thing is an assumption. Didn't get to check if the tyres were tubeless either.

I noticed the different looking tread pattern and was able to stop the guy for a moment, only to be able to read the brand off the tyre.

I'm looking for options to replace my ZMA tyres and would like to go the tubeless route with 3.00x18 (or 90/90-18?) up front and 110/90 on the rear. It would be nice if there were some fresh options available.

Anyone have any clues on whether Bridgestone has launched motorycle tyres in India?

    • I checked out IRC at jayanagar yesterday, both 90/90/18 and the 100/90/18 seemed like front tyres(to be used on bigger bikes) even on the net I can't seem to find a rear 90/90/18 IRC anybody got some pointers?

Went to Sai Iyengar's today, having no other option but to get another 3.25x18 m45 replacing the current one, and the guy there(some uncle types) said TVS is taking over michelin distribution in India, you should get new stocks in another week or ten days time(???!!!). Again, who's got more info on this?

Last I know and checked, rear tyre from IRC starts from 110 section, please correct me if I am wrong.

          • yep 110 is right.. I found 90/90 and 100/90 also but they are not for the rear(according to what I feel) but the shop guy insists that they are for the rear. So, What I feel is they are meant for the front for higher capacity bikes, but this guy is pushing them as a rear tyre for our puny bikes.

Could you explain why the M45 has fallen out of favour?

              • It's just personal mate, I picked up a lot of punctures etc, I didn't like it under braking also, considering the fact that I had changed from a 18k run zap-q.. but the tyre is amazing for the first 8-10k kms, ie if you dont end up with frequent punctures

Agreed, the M45 loves nails, it just sucks them in . But there is nothing like the M45 when it comes to road grip in dry & rain, it is the best.

I am new to this forum, from this forum i am getting lots of info about the bike, thanks to the team of XBHP, great work guys..

Well i have a pulsar 220 and recently i saw FZ16, its very cool bike, i am planning to fitt both front and rear tyres of FZ16 to my Pulsar 220... so plz help me can it be done?? i want to fit those tyres to my same 220 mag wheels... so plz help me guys and your sujesstion is needed... thank you!
i would suggest against that. The tires for FZ were made specifically for FZ. It is a low profile tire. The front tire has the (almost)same height as the P220 stock tire ( difference of 1 mm) and the rear FZ tire is of very low height compared to the stock 220 (12 mm difference). Your bike would be lowered at the back considerably. Also, fitment of the 140 size would require a mod to some parts of your rear, minor or major, and that is definitely not recommended.

All in all, comparing the looks vs the sacrifice, I says its definitely not worth.

Why?? Has it gone bald? Is there a specific reason, prajwal? Because the alloy Unis tires are actually pretty good right (Zappers 100/90).

                      • @ All : Are the alloys of FZ stable as i found them to be very thin as compared to others...they are kind of like thin iron rods..??

I have the same view. I wonder how strong they are. I know that there are lots of R15 alloys reported cracked.

thanks for the link mate, The tyres I saw looked like NR28(90/90) and the NR55(100/90).. interestingly their front tyres also have the same pattern, will have to read the writing on the tyre to confirm, if its NR or NF.. seems like its worth a try after all..

Yes they r good when the roads are dry. But are not so good when the road is wet. Besides, I am looking for tubeless tyres for my Unicorn. I have had my share of punctures on my splendor in its 8 years of use!

I own a pulsar 200 cc and live in Bangalore,,

Currently on the stock tyres but wish to change it to better ones,

Stock is not what i have on my mind again so guys please suggest something ASAP,

                                A few inputs:

1.I usually use my bike to commute to-fro Office
Stye of riding - Pretty rough lean at turns when i get an opportunity
also rip if i dont have time

When i go for the get to gethers

Stye of riding - I practice leaning, stoppies and wheelies[though this
                                does not require]

All in all looking for tyre's which would give me good grip on wet
                                roads/dry roads for leans.

2.I heard about the Sirac for the rear and M45 for the front but i am not
to sure weather its the right option

Also i need more clarity on the size and stuff about the ones mentioned above,

The rim size i know is 17" on the bike tyre is 120/80 rear and front not to sure

And about the sirac and m45 no idea please update me with the details and also let me know if i can choose a little more wider tyres[if yes which ones?]

3.I hope my question is clear? incase you need to know anything else let
                                me know.

P.S i know there is SAI and Iyenger tyre shop in bangalore J.C road but i need advice from experts out here.

                                Cheers[]

130/70 R17 Will be ok ,front tyre can be 3.00 (both upsized by 1) overall its looks good but pickup will be compromised a bit
