paradoxx I agree, and I don't want to spoil the spoked look either, but in case of a flat, it's crazy to fix it on this heavy bike.. Just impossible to push this 200kg bike.. And I could use some breathing time before I get the puncture fixed.
I am not much worried about the looks, because I think I can find nice looking rims, but if performance is q concern.. That puts me in a real fix...

Buddy just get the tyres filled with anti puncture liquid and on your next tyre change get a set of hard compound tyres. They will wear lesser and wil last longer and wont be punchered easily
But grip leels will tske a hit
Brother what is ment here is tvs now makes the tyres for michelin.
Hence tvs made michelins are not as good as the original michelin make.
Also new michelins are harder compound and have isi marks, and they are made in india.
divyansh....
What a pity! No more real Michelins

Yes absolutely throw away those tvs crap tyres asap!
Prices here in kolkata are 1700 fronts and 2700 rear but I will suggest you a few more tyres if you can source them
Rear:-
-100 section yamaha r15 v1 rear tyre... dont go by the size this thing is ery soft compound and yamaha rejected 6 tyres made by yamaha for the r15 before accepting thid one. Price around 2600 rs
- honda dazzlers rear mrf is 110 section tubeless and offers very good grip and lasts quite a bit too. 2300rs
-ceat vertigo 100 section but looks thicker excellent all round performance and lssts long too 1875
Front:-
R15 v2 front tyre
Yama fz front tyre
Ceat secura zoom 1450
Prices are what last I enquired about a month ago should be similar I guess
Hello guys are the ceat tyres made of softer compound compared to mrf's , my bike has got 2.75"x 18 rear tyre, tyre is getting crack from several places, (mrf make) although the tyre has clocked 80000kms, but now it needs to be changed, so which tyre should i go for.
Sir you need a salute from me! They have cracked? M amazed they are not falling off:what:
I suppose you need a tyre that will last you long and will provide you with decent grip too. You have not mentioned the bike you have,
2.75 tyre for the rear is yamaha crux and splendour passion delux dawn category.....
Try to go for the following
Rear:-
-Michelin sirac streen 100/ 18 ( a little bigger but much safer and high milage as well as grip)
-ceat vertigo 3/18
Front:-
Ceat secura zoom 2.75/ 18
Mrf zapper 2.75/18
All are tube tyre
My bike is yamaha rx-100, yes i need a tyre which should last long, tyres have cracked but not falling off, tyres lasted this long because i do take good care of them, i don't punish them, keep them properly inflated, wash them when they get dirty and give them a good polish, you have suggested Michelin 100/18 isn't that tyre too big and will the mileage drop of my bike attaching photo of the tyre. Whole tyre has cracked between the tread and from the side walls.

See all the tyres you get in 3/18 have a flat face.
Michelin sirac street 100/18 is a little thicker but excellet on corners..... its a well rounded tyre so contact patch on a straight line is same as a 3/18 also its there with a good treat pattern, and its not very heavy so mileage drop wont be very high
You have ceat thats also excellent and available in 3/18
Look at both the tyres you cant go wrong with any one
Thanks for the guidance and i will see both of them, actually one of the tyre dealer told me that Michelin is not suitable for our Indian roads as our country roads has got more undulation than that of europe because of which tyres has got more load on the sidewalls and hence tyres loses its balance and wears faster.

Earlier michelins were made in thailand and yes they were doft compound an became bald quickly and didnt last long but gripped very high!!
Now after the isi branding compulsion put forth by our rubbish government systems imported bike tyres also need isi certificates
Hence, tvs now makes tyres for michelin. They are not that soft anymore and are medium compound (dont wory not as hard and rubbish as tvs)
!!! Tvs making tyres for Michelins that's shocking man i mean this is the company who was once making tyres for F1 teams and even today they participate in rallys and bike racing, then why the hell did they chose Tvs for making there tyres, tyres made by tvs for there own use is crap, and yes you are right this ISI marking is nothing but just pure nonsense.

Unfortunately they outsourced it to tvs.
Fortunately the tvs made michelins are not as bad as tvs tyres.
Fortunately they are cheaper.
Good news:- (source hidden)
Ceat is going to introduce soft compound slicks very soon.
For all the performance enthusiasts.
Hmm that's good news on Ceat, so i should wait for Ceat then to see what they are coming up with, one more thing how are these puncture sealants, that are available in the market for tube tyres, do these products really slow down the or seal the air from escaping the tyre in the event of puncture.
