It's very simple, in this picture, you can see 4313, some tires have DOT precedence and some tires will not.

This is what an average tire in India will look like.

The last four digits, that is 0500, that indicates it's manufactured in 05th week of the year 2000. Now before 2000 there were three digits, that was confusing, so manufacturers have added another digit to make it four. On all tires, in India you have this stamped on a oval patch, always check for the last four digits.

Say for example if the tire says 0801, it was manufactured on 8th week of 2001.

A year has 52 weeks, so the first digits will represent the week and the last two digits, which year.

Cheers!

The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Thanks for the detailed info bro.
Actually I'm planning to change my R15 V2.0 rear tyre. I came across in some online post that MRF has updated it's NV series revz ,recently so just to ensure that I am getting the new updated stock needed to know about mfg year .

Also want to know about user opinion cbr 150 's rear tyre for R15 v2. Will it make any diff in performance front. ?

As mentioned in my previous post . I'm looking for new tyre sets for my R15 V2. And I've registered in MRF official site for new NV series radial tyres.

Yesterday I got a call from MRF customer response that am I still looking for tyre? I replied yes.

Then he guided me a authorised dealer nearer to my location there I can get REVZ-S rear tyre for ₹3282 and no extra cost for fitment . But when I reach that dealer he first showed me a two year old stock (thanks to B7ACKTHORN it's really helpful to checking the mfg year) then I asked the dealer to show me a new stock and I don't want the old stock . He actually showed me ne tyre which was manufactured in 30th month of 2015. And I asked him what was the price of this. He replied very rudely it costs ₹4000 .

I was like 😳 what and I told him that I got a call from MRF and said it costs ₹3282 only. He told final price is ₹4000 if you want buy it then Immediately another guy showed up and said ₹3800 is the best price they can give me. I argued with them and both the dealer guys were like do whatever you can this is the price .

Then immediately I called up the guy who called me yesterday and told him the full story . He replied he will get back to me once he confirm with the dealer . But no response from him . After sometime I called him back that rukne he told sorry sir the cost of the tyre has been reduced recently what the dealer was having is the old stock of higher bill price. New stock after price revision are still not reached yet to dealer . Please wait for some days we will get back to you asap.

Felt totally irritated today . This is how the reputed manfucturer& dealership does business . 😈

I am in a similar situation as Ram above.

For the last few days, I am checking with various MRF dealers and other tyre distributors in Bangalore for R15 V2 front (90/80 R17 Zapper FY1) and rear tyres (130/70 R17 Revz S) for my P220.

None of them seem to have stock of the front tyre but the rear is available in the range of Rs 2950 to Rs 3500 across various dealers/online shopping sites.

I am looking to buy both as a set and get it installed at the same place instead of buying front and rear from different vendors.

I have written to MRF in their website as well. Lets hope to hear what they have to say.

On the other hand, if anyone has any leads to the above spec tyres in Bangalore, it would be great if it is posted here.

Hi

Finally got REVZ-S for ₹3500 in Chennai. After lot of search found a good dealer. The dealer said they are not getting stocks sufficiently even though they get lot of enquires for 130/70*17 revz-s instead they were pushed to sell Zapper-Q .

Also asked him for front Zapper-FY1 90/80*17 he said he will arrange it for me in a week time.

• Review: CEAT Vertigo Rage

This is a review of CEAT Vertigo Rage. I searched for reviews on the net but couldn't find one. Friend of mine used this on our Ladakh trip and it was awesome. As my tyre had 2k-3k life remaining, I changed my tyre to 120/80-R18 for my RTR160FI from 110/80-R18 ZapperQ.

Pros:
1. Superb dry and wet grip.
2. For both on-road and off-road rides.
3. Stability in high speeds is better than ZapperQ.
4. Cornering is really good now. During my Ladakh ride, I found cornering on ZapperQ to be just OK.
5. No headache of punctures. No puncture on my friend's tyre during Ladakh ride(lucky?).
6. Does not lose its line during hard braking and does not lock up easily up either.

Cons:
1. Stock availability.
2. Very few one's available, but all are of old stock.

I ordered from Snapdeal, but the order got cancelled as they we unable to find the tyre from any of their dealers. Found one in JC Road for 2650Rs which was manufactured in late 2012. But as CEAT gives 3 years warranty for tyres, I took it. Found it to be great rear tyre for those who are searching for medium compound.

Check out Super Tyre on JC Road. Got the same tyre for my brother's RTR180 few months back. You need to take the right on first signal on JC Road which leads to Urvashi Theater. The shop is located on the left side, 3rd or 4th one on taking the right turn. I paid 2050Rs for the tyre. Check out the location on this map.

Looking to replace the MRFs on my D200, and enquired with a few dealers around pune for Michelin PSR. Seems the front is not in stock anywhere? One dealer said he could order, but he quoted a high price. Can anyone confirm this?

• 500 kms review of Birla Road MAxx BT and Ceat Secura Neo Scooter tyres.

I got both the tyres replaced recently with CEAT SECURA neo in the front and Birla Road Maxx for the rear. I find both of them equally good and you can go for either of them eyes closed.

Here are my observations

Secura Neo has a middle sized button pattern and can be used for both front and rear. The tyre is not very big and is good for both dry and wet conditions

Birla Road Maxx is also soft compound and looks a bit larger than the Secura nea, the tyre pattern is more suitable for front however I dint find any problems using it for the back .

Guys I changed both the tyres on my Fazer to Michellin Pilot Sporty(Made in India).. the decision which I am regretting now.

The tyres are useless in both dry and wet conditions. Should have gone with MRF. This is a heads up if anyone is thinking of getting Michellin Pilot Sporty.

The tyres just dont grip at all. I have this constant feeling in rains the tyres are going to lose grip any moment. Forget wet conditions. In dry weather too the tyres perform very badly. I went for a Igatpuri trip on Sunday, everything was so bad.. braking.. cornering.

The roads were so amazing.. I couldnt enjoy the ride at all.

I regret buying these tyres. Please do not buy MPS.

Pilot street for pulsar 200ns will have to be upsized? How much of a difference will it make? Stock is 130 for rear and 100 for front. But pilot street is available as 110 for front and both 130 & 140 for rear. What size will be good without affecting handling or performance negatively?
