Obviosuly not..!! Then in this case, they might not be having a source of income..

They might considering changing/replacing it only in case the tyre develops cracks or something..

          • Ceat recently launched(don't know much abt its collection for 2 wheelers) a tubeless variant for bikes called as "Ceat Vertigo"..not heard abt its review from anyone..

But, ceat is really good for the car tyres..mot ppl prefer them after MRF..

Also, local ppl look for these on their bikes if they dont want MRF..! For ex. my roomate is using a ceat rear tyre for his fiero..

            • Hi guys,

Can anyone tell me if fitting FZ-16's MRF 140/60-R17 tyre for a Pulsar 150 rear will better its grip & handling? Will any mods be required?

              • i doubt 140\60 will mount on pulsoar's 2.5" alloys...even if they do they wont look as wide as that of fz16....

                • MRF is not really preffered for cars by discerning people. The compound is said to be hard... so its noisy and dosen't grip well. No personal exerience with MRF car tyres though.

Dunno about Ceat car tyres... but they are supposed to be quite good for bikes. In fact I just saw a new stock at the tyre shop yesterday. In fact I went there to see if they will take back my Dunlop Challenger 101 and replace it with the ordinary Challenger. The compund on the Ceats felt really good and seemed grippy. Seemed quite comparable to the Dunlops. The rubber on the TVS tyres seemed quite hard in comparision, though they looked good. The MRFs on my CBZ feel somewhat like the TVS tyres!

                    • I remember some of our members who are not quite satisfied with Ceat Vertigo. There are posts regarding this before the Server Crash.

Regarding car tyres, Ceat is not that famous. MRFs are the hardest and longlasting tyres. Grip in wet would be scary. All Michelin tyres and some types of Bridgstones are good value for money. Michelins are the best bet for both cars and bikes. The wet grip is also great in Michelins compared to other brands. I have been using the Michelins for my car for the past 20000 km, and they are very good and I am more than satisfied with them.

My next tyre set for my bike would obviously be Michelins.

                        • Yokohamas are great too. Have them on my car. They are probably as good if not better the more expensive Michellins! Haven't compared them on the same car, so cant make an exact comparative statement.

And I might add, Ceat tyres seem to perform good on older bikes like RX 100, Shogun etc... as per the people who have used them. Don't know about their performance in current generation bikes, tubeless ones, etc. But I have to say the ones I saw yesterday seemed and felt to have some good rubber... dunno how they might perform in real though. I'm considering them for the front tyre of my Shogun.
