UG Refers to Generation of the Pulsar launch..!! In other words, as per the upgrades launched for the bike it was named to distinguish them..Originally posted by Method Man View Posti have a 2006 pulsar (referred UG2 in the forums, btw wat does UG stand for?
).
AFAIK, for your bike 17" inch rim size wont fit...as it has a 18" inch rim..

UG stands for Up-Grade... hence UG2 means Up-Grade 2 (also referred as v2... version 2)Originally posted by Method Man View Posti have a 2006 pulsar (referred UG2 in the forums, btw wat does UG stand for?

Even bajaj service centres refer this abbreviations to distinguish so many pulsar models

i think 100 wud be an somewhat overkill .Stick to the stock size for the front.I guess 130 wud suffice for the rear though u wud lose out on top end and mileageOriginally posted by dual disc 200 View PostHEY RAVI,

CEAT tyres- Free lifetime replacement!!!

what do they mean by this? do they mean they replace it once its bald?
which never happens, cos if we buy a tyre we woud use it,
i expirencend it with a Ceat Vertigo!
Just a manufacturing Defect!
Yes!! you need to get FZ rims also!Originally posted by Method Man View PostHi guys,
Can anyone tell me if fitting FZ-16's MRF 140/60-R17 tyre for a Pulsar 150 rear will better its grip & handling? Will any mods be required?

There was first pulsar with a round headlight both 150/180 called as classic..
then it was Dts-i for both with a fairing and silencer change!
Then Came UG1 for 150 and 180 both had alloys with had a dual shifter for gear which was eliminated in V2!
then Came UG2 with minor changes in 150 and complete black version in 180 [Fear The Black]
Then Came UG-3 with Dihi Console and LED tail lamps and rocket type tail and a fab mud gaurd!
after that they launched 200 and 220 instead of UG-4 and UG-5

I think i wud be a bit over as it wud kill the bike + when you woud step over it you woud yourself eat up half more power!Originally posted by dual disc 200 View PostHEY RAVI,

Got my tyre dealer to change the rear tyre on my Suzuki Shogun and got the Dunlop Challenger 101 changed to the ordinary looking Challenger (both same size, ie.: 3 x 18). The bike looks less mean due to the ordinary tyre
but at lest now I have a tyre more suited to my kinda driving.
IMHO the Challenger 101 is a good tyre if someone is looking for dual-purpose kinda tyre. The tyre seems to have more rubber and deeper treads and looks lot more impressive. The grip seems much better than the Zapper Y on my CBZ-X. The ordinary Challenger seems more suited to tarmac and the ride quality on smoother roads seems better...
Dunno about the performance of these tyres on wet roads. Dunno how long they will last either. The compound feels softer than that of tyres of other makes like MRF, TVS, etc. Both the tyres tend to get li'l warm, even when ridden for short distances in cooler ambient temperatures... which I'm sure contributes to their grip.
Strangely, the Challenger's pattern has a central groove... the kind that I thought existed only on front tyres. Dunno what this does to handling/grip. Any ideas?
Found something on the wet that echoes my recent experience (part of it described in earlier posts):
<Source>It is not just the size that matters but also the compound of what it is made of:
This is speaking from a personal experience of mine. I have a Yamaha RX100 (which my brother rides in Bangalore right now) and recently I went in for a rear tyre change. This time instead of going in for a tyre with fancy racing pattern, I went in for one with a simple pattern but which was made of "softer compound". The brand of this new tyre was "CEAT" and the tyre is called "SECURA".
I went for this tyre on the recommendation of my mechanic and boy was I impressed with the tyre..!! Although the "CEAT SECURA" did not have any fancy patterns, the grip from that tyre was very impressive.
The spokes of my gun have dulled considerably over the years. Does anybody know what can be done to make them look better?Last edited by Raccoon; 03-30-2009, 02:35 AM.
