      Instead of speaking theoretically, I would give practical examples. Rockkyy from Banglore has been using the Sirac as tubeless successfully for the past 1.5 year or so with extensive touring. He never complained about the tyre. Ravikiran has been using the Sirac as tubeless for the past 10000km or so with textensive touring under harsh conditions (i am an eye witness to it). I guess there are two more guys who are using Sirac as tubeless in P220.

        Sirjee...there's a difference b/w the Sirac and the M45..!!

        One is haathi and the other is a chinti..!!

          I'm surprised that you are still checking for options... why don't you ride down to Hyderabad in the week-end

          May be you can call this guy (9985129036 / 040 6682 1075 - Kamal Automibiles) and speak to him about options available and cost... tell him that you were referred to by the Red Karizma guy (Ravi) who visited him on the Sunday.

                Sadly, i can't get in touch with this guy as Ravi told IRCs for 18 inch rims are not available..!!

                  Sirac also is mentioned tube type on the walls. I am quoting in general for all Michelins.

                  But, you better use M45 as tube type. I am thinking of mailing to Michelin directly regarding the usage of these Michelins as tube less, whether it is allowed or not?

                    • I have touched & pressed the inner layer in Michelin tyres... M45 & Sirac. It is softer than in normal tyres... like how tubeless would be... but it probably was not as soft as the inner layer of the MRF Tubeless on my R15. But then, being from different companies can probably make this difference...!

                      • ^^^Verbal assurances do not carry weight. If it was supposed to be used as tubeless, it would have been embossed on the sidewall.

                          It is not mandatory to mention on the side walls. If it were not supposed to be tubeless it won't work for people for tens of thousands of kilometers withstanding punctures repaired with tube-less puncture repair kits. This was mentioned in earlier posts.

                          If it doesn't work for you unless the manufacturer specifies everything then don't use it. We are not an ad agency or a standards organization here... we are discussing experiences.

                                Sorry, that was in response to the post preceeding yours. Guess you posted while I was typing, hence your post preceeded mine, and I could not see it at that time.

                                I still beg to differ - it has to be in writing (on the sidewall). Things may work in certain conditions and fail in some others. When a tyre is marked as tubeless, it would have been designed for and tested in all/most conditions. And I'm sure tyres are not one of the things you want to fail on a high speed ride. Are you sure you want to play a chance game here? Yours and somebody else's life and limbs will be at stake.

                                Anyway, do what you will... I can only put forward a cautionary note.
