This one is a bit difficult to find.

I checked out Vyde on the MRF website (Two Wheelers) and it has a funky tread. Is that yours. The only one applicable for me in that series is a150/70. But the ZapperQ looks OK and has a 140/90 available. Will check it out.

    Thanks,
    Beo
    heyy... long time.
mine is 120/80-17. yeah the same pattern in vid link. but what i saw in the stores were this tyre and FZ 140" tyre. no other fatter ones.
anyways u can call and check:
    Sri Sapthagiri Tyres, Chamarajpet
    09945775576 and 08026709538

is there an online buy option for MRF? i am not aware.
    anyways, good luck.

    • Which all terrain tyre for the R15?

      Hi guys,
The plans for LEH is finalised and I am taking my R15 for this one. So planning to change the rear tyre for the ride, as I believe the front one will perform ok. Have zeroed down to the ceat tubeless vertigos attaching a pic of the same. Now I have two options of 100 and 120 section, so which one will be better for the ride?

      Thanks

      Amit

Same plan, same bike and zeroed on same tyre. They have a 100/90 x 17 TL in Ceat Vertigo Sport and price was quoted at Rs 1000.

Buttoned tyres are wider than round profile track tyres... go with 100 section. 120 will be very big.

Thanks mate, but the price here quoted was 1150 bucks. Will check it and get one soon. Want to use the tyres for few kms before moving for the trip.

Yes. Regular shops quoted Rs 1150. A Ceat dealer quoted Rs 1000. So, you know there is that margin there. Bargain.

Yes, it is better you get to feel the tyres for some time before you ride out to Leh. Handling changes with this tyre.

I suggest a 120 section if everything else is the same.

my take was that I didn't want extra weight (the 100 section buttoned one it self weight more than the stock tyre) on my sprockets and didn't want the tyre to rub anywhere on the swing arm or what ever else. I saw two bikes with the tyre I have mentioned and nothing touches... so no issues. Also, didn't want to loose out on a lot of handling with a fat tyre. The 100 section already robs off a decent amount of handling.

I say use it for the Leh trip, then get back to stock!

When I go to get the tyre changed I would see the 120 section tyre once and then would decide. So far, the 100 section itself looks identifiably bigger than the stock tyre.

If its thickness is 90, then I say you better stick with 100 section, if you can find an 80, then 120 section should work fine. The idea is not to change the overall dia.

                            Its under inflation of Tire!!!
                            Not at all recommended.

Lower tire pressure increase the rolling resistance, The Contact patch increases - will change the handling characteristics of the Bike, The Tire will wear out unevenly, the vehicle ground clearance reduces, etc.,

                            Too many parameters change.
Please refrain from using the tire if it develops any cracks!!!!!!

                            • Front tyre for the Thunderbird

Brothers, I am looking at changing the stock front tyre for the Thunderbird...I don't like the stock tyre since it has that concentric ring sort of pattern and on the Electronic City road here in Bangalore, it can be a nightmare cause there is a whole stretch of road connected in the middle by concrete and this tyre does not help at all....

I am sure that I made no sense there, but what options do I have for changing my front tyre...I am trying to get a button pattern for better grip....
