Metro Tyres is a RIP OFF! I just called them and they told me 3500 bucks a pair!

Sign Tyres didn't answer. Must be shut being a Sunday.

I also spoke to a dealer in Malad and they only have the rear 3.00. They will have to order the front they said. Their price was 2600 a pair.

I agree with that! He sure is a rip-off! He quotes astronomical figures for IRC and R15 tyres also...i got R15 tyres at less than half the price quoted by him...Sign tyres seemed to be an okay guy....try to call him up again today and negotiate if you can....also dont know about this Malad shop....There's also Gobind tyres at Grant Road.... and Premji tyres at Mahim....i think Premji also only stocks Michelins

I bought M45 3.00 in March in Hyderabad. Costed me Rs.1688.89 + 12.5% VAT. Mumbai shouldnt be so way off the mark

Not only is he a rip off, he's rude on the phone as well. As if he's doing everyone a favour by selling them tyres.

I spoke to Sign Tyres today and they don't have the 2.75 for the front. They have the 3.00 and 3.25.

4 days back - checked M45 3.00 x 18 with tube first quote is Rs 1600 in two shops in Hyderabad. Wanted 4.00 x 18 but couldn't find one.

G8 I didnt bother asking around, because when I was in Hyderabad my bike didnt have NOC, tax receipt, etc. So was very skeptical doing the rounds of the city. Asked in a shop (Ashoka Tyres) in M.G Road, to my surprise he had it and just bought it rightaway

That guy is the big one in that area and isn't that good. not much variety. first he quotes prices higher than his neighboring shops. If the customer is going away and if that material is available with his adjacent shops he undercuts the price to below what the others can give. If others don;t have that material, he doesn't come down.

The real tyre market in Hyderabad is Siddamber Bazar. That is near the Masjid on the road when going from Karachi Bakery / Mozam Zahi Market to MG Bus Station.

Saw that yesterday for Rs 1650 as R15's rear tyre is not available anywhere.

May be you can try one of those stock tyres for the front from Dunlop or MRF. How about the Ceat 100/90 x 17 TL Vertigo Sport for Rs 1000???
yeah 100/90/17 front. I will look into some zappers if possible.. i guess tubeless tyres are a little less dependable in leh roads when compared to the tubed ones! (if it gets cut!)
A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel.

Always be ready (get geared) to fall and then think of sitting on the motorcycle.
