I bought the rear from Gaurav Batteries and the front from Planet Accessories. Both are in Malad.

The front cost me 1350 and the rear 1200!

      • HELP: Suggest a tubeless Rear Tyre for Pulsar-150 UG3.

        Hi..
I generally do long rides with pillion. Got a P-150/ 1 year and 13.5K KM old..
Recently changed front Tyre to 90/90 Zapper FS tubeless.
I want to change rear Tyre to tubeless now. I don't want to go for 120/80.. as need to remove chain cover and speed would be hampered. otherwise vyde would have been perfect choice.

        Requirment:
        1. GOOD GRIP. Good cornering.
        2. Very good GRIP for WET surface. as pune is to see 4 months of rain now. and i don't intend to sit at home .

I am thinking about Zapper-C 100/90 tubeless. Any better option? any 110 one?

BUDGET CAN GO UP-TO 3K FOR GOOD TYRE. BUT IT MUST BE TUBELESS.. KINDLY MENTION THE APPROX PRICE WITH SUGGESTION.

mine is 17" rim with alloy wheels.

Go For the Rear tire of R15.
Its the Best Tire U can get.
          Price will be around 3k.
          Its an MRF 100/80-17.

It Meets both of UR requirements.

          U'll be getting Excellent Grip.
U'll also get good Acceleration a notch higher than UR Stock tire.
But U'll lose may be 3-4 kmph of Top end.

Thr R15 rear costs 1550 in chennai. Front costs 990. And the change in handling is very evident. Bike gets a lot easier to flick around.

i mean it wud an overkill at some sort... but my mech said 120 wud fit without any change to the swingarm.. i mean i reali love the sirac...im nt able to find pirellis here..... so its either m45, sirac or the ones i listed......
Atul, may be you should go with the M45 3 or 4 inch depending on what looks you want. The M45 3.00 x 18 offers better grip than any MRF/TVS/Ceat 100 section tyre.

what is the best recommendation for both front and rear tyres that would give me a real good grip on wet roads. I am ok to compromise on the life and the cost.

Vivek, pls check the options I have listed for RTR 2-3 pages back. They are all Karizma's tyres. You might want to try the Continental or the MRF Meteor options. They are softer compound. Else just find a M45 4.00 x 18 for your rear.

Try Kamal Automobiles in Ramkoti (Jagruti College Lane) and those numerous shops in the tyre market area I have mentioned two days back here.

R15's tyres are a bad name for the MRF family they are grippier than many international brand soft compound tyres we get here and last lesser. This behavior is completely against to what we know MRF for!

Make sure you ask for MRF Zapper S 100/80 x 17. Most shops don't know that size and model exist.

Hydbiker boy: Speak to darth lucifer to figure out how much the R15's lost grip while in North Sikkim. Its suicidal to take to ladakh from what him/anup/sparsh said.

                  • ^^^ yes, anything that is not flat, the track tyres of R15 don't get grip. I tried them on enough no-road situations.

I'm changing the rear tyre to a buttoned one for the planned ride.

but I am very particular about grip on wet roads.. I hope this goes well..

Can anyone point me to a shop in PUNE for this tyre?

You are correct about this. Wider tyres do reduce pick up, top speed and fuel efficiency. The tyres we choose are a balance between road grip and engine performance.
